You've seen Nugget, but do you know how special this pony is?

Here's a little backstory...

Nugget was a rescue who came to JM Durr (one of our sponsored riders) with a wry nose, which is why his nose looks a little sideways.

Nugget is already a special pony, but he's extra special to JM's program โ€” not just because he is absolutely ADORABLE, but because he also helped a very special horse, Blue Rodeo "Stanley," overcome his anxiety at horse shows.

You see, Stanley was an anxious horse with a lot of potential, but he became a bit of nervous nelly at horse shows.

JM thought that Stanley might need a friend โ€” or something more like an emotional support pony. So in came Nugget!

Nugget made a WORLD of a difference. Everywhere Stanley goes, Nugget goes too. They share a stall and a pasture, and when Stanley gets ridden, Nugget can be found tied nearby. If Stanley goes on a trail ride, Nugget gets ponied along as well. When Stanley is at horse shows, Nugget stands just outside of the ring, waiting for his bestie to have a clear round.

After Nugget came into his life, Stanley went on to complete in multiple advanced events โ€” and even the 4* at Kentucky. After retiring from eventing, he now competes in high-level show jumping.

And none of this would have been possible for Stanley without his little friend, Nugget!

Nugget is proof that sometimes, all you need is a good friend!

Mrs. Pastures Cookies for Horses

In 1986 Patricia Burge was determined to make a special cookie for her favorite horse, Poncho. After many months of trial and error she developed a winning recipe. At the age of 66, with encouragement from her friends and family she founded Mrs. Pasturesยฎ Cookies for Horses. The company was incorporated in 1990 in the state of California and is now a nationally recognized leader in the horse treat industry. We are passionate about our business, and take great pleasure in making horses lives more enjoyable, as well as creating a means for a special bond between horses and their owners.
