Hey friends and family! Kassidy is the 2024, Rodeo Champions of America Oregon Junior Miss. We are looking for any donations for the girls Coronation on January 6th. There will be a silent auction, dinner and a fun K-9 presentation after dinner is served. The money she earns from the silent auction items will go to her travel fees for the rodeos, as well as attire, horse tack, ect.

The Coronation for the ladies is January 6th at the Terrebonne Grange Hall. The doors open at 4pm, food is being served at 5. Address is 8286 11th St. Terrebonne, Or 97760. The tickets are $25 per person. All proceeds go towards the girls, and anything helps.

This is how all first rides should go! Nice and boring! If you do enough prep work on your c**ts, you shouldn't have huge blow ups! I have to figure out how to shorten the video (since it's too long to post/send). This mares first ride was textbook and successful! Always lope them, even the first ride, so then they know it's an expectation the rest of their life. You run into a lot less problems that way! . We ❤️ Clinton Anderson. Thanks Alayna for your help!!

Last night at 9pm, horses all tucked in for the night. Crook County 4-H Horse Fair starts on 6/30 at 8:30am. Come watch and support these kiddos. They have been practicing since November, so come on down. Free to spectators 😊❤️.

This video came up in my phone, so I posted it again! This horse was one of the best transformations still to this day! This is so important!!

When it comes to starting c**ts, you need to be as realistic of your ability as you possibly can be. One of the first requirements is having an independent seat, which means that you can walk, trot and canter on a loose rein and you don't need to squeeze with your legs or pull on the reins to stay in the saddle. It's important to have an independent seat because c**ts are going to do silly things from time to time. They're like kids--you love them to death, but they're going to do things that drive you insane and embarrass you at times. Colts will jump left and right and do things you aren't expecting. And when they do it, they're not going to send you a big telegram five minutes ahead of time saying, "Hey Fred, I'm going to jump left in 20 seconds."

A good horseman can always feel something coming, but there might only be half a second before it happens. An inexperienced person, or someone who hasn't started many c**ts, isn't going to be in tune with a c**t to that degree and can quickly find themselves in dangerous situations. It's normal for c**ts to get a little worried when being ridden—sometimes they get goosy or shoot forward. It's not a big deal if you stay relaxed and ride through it. However, if you panic and pull on the c**t, it will just scare him even more and ruin his confidence. Little moments like that can be the difference between an outright disaster or a non-event.

If you don't feel confident in your ability to stay with the horse, then you're not ready to start a c**t. It is very important that the first several rides a young horse has go well because they set the stage for his future. If you act cautiously or sneak around a c**t, he'll pick up on your nerves and react himself. When getting on a c**t, you need to be confident and a leader he can trust. If you're a ball of nerves, the situation will turn dangerous quickly. – Clinton
