Happy National Walk Your Dog Day!
It's #NationalWalkYourDogDay! Taking your dog for a walk provides exercise and mental stimulation (all those smells!) for your pup. It also helps you meet and connect with your neighbors.
When out and about with your canine companion, be a good neighbor by doing the following:
-> Keep your dog on a leash (no longer than seven feet) at all times unless in a designated off leash area.
-> Clean up and properly dispose of your pet's waste.
-> Make sure your pup is wearing identification, including a current dog license.
Licensing your dog helps them get back home
Every year, we reunite hundreds of pets with their owners. With your help, we can do better. Licensing your furry friend helps get them home quickly if they are ever lost. License your dog today at www.WashingtonCountyDogLicense.com.

Arlo and Milo reunited with their person at Bonnie Hays
Even when we are closed to the public because of the weather, reuniting lost pets with their families remains a top priority. Our staff has continued to work hard during these storms. And as weather and road conditions have allowed, we've continued getting lost pets back home.
Look at how happy Arlo and Milo were when they spotted their person in our lobby! #reunitedanditfeelssogood
We hope that you and your animal companions can stay safe and warm during this winter weather. If needed, you can find a map of severe weather shelters in Washington County at https://wcor.us/disasterhelpmap. Call 2-1-1 for transportation options.
Pets are allowed at the Beaverton Community Center, Salvation Army Building and Wingspan. Please bring the pet’s crate and other supplies to keep them comfortable.

Looks like Kona was just a little bit excited to be #reunited with his family today, eh? Luckily for Kona, he had been microchipped, and that chip was registered. This helped our staff get him back to the people who know and love him quickly. Yay, Kona!
