Just because our pups can't ask for the same kind of wellness routines we create for ourselves doesn't mean they couldn't use them! Just like for humans, canine massage can be a great way to unwind, relax, and thank the body for all its hard work. It can also bring gentle relief to dogs suffering from injuries, chronic illness, old age, anxiety, and more. Join us 5/5 to learn some techniques with massage therapist Dawn Tule. All proceeds benefit BARk!

We received a call from an Amish puppy miller about a 10 week old puppy with, “a bad eye”. Within an hour of being out of the mill with our volunteer, this tiny baby began screaming and writhing in pain. His screams wouldn’t stop, something was terribly wrong. It was late into the evening, so we rushed him to the closest emergency hospital.

Immediately upon arrival to the local emergency hospital, he was triaged and fast tracked to the back to the emergency room veterinarian. We were told that his quality of life should be considered and that humane euthanasia would not be a wrong decision. He had no vision in either of his eyes, and he was experiencing excruciating pain that could not be localized. The doctor also felt the structure of his head was not quite right. Lacking MRI and advanced imagining capabilities, we opted for overnight monitoring and pain control until we could get this little baby to one of our trusted specialty hospitals. We hoped he would make it through the night, dreading a phone call in the middle of the night.
We called the animal hospital early in the morning and received the good news, the baby was comfortably resting, and they believed his sight had miraculously been restored.
Our volunteers are currently doing everything in their power to get him to one of our trusted specialty hospitals for emergent life-saving care.

This baby’s name is Justin, he is reported by the vet staff to be a sweet little baby with a will to live.

Cases like this need to be addressed quickly. There is only a small window of opportunity to address any issues that may involve the brain, spinal cord or back. We must move quickly to execute a plan to get baby Justin to an emergency hospital with MRI capability and a board certified neurologist on staff. Every minute counts, we are racing against the clock.

The suffering and abuse at Amish and Mennonite puppy mills continues with no end in sight. We need your help to fight for the innocent souls like Justin that are being held captive, forced to endure unthinkable conditions, and the most unthinkable acts.

As we continue to swiftly initiate our plan to get Justin to our veterinary partner, we ask that you kindly considering donating to help us spare no expense to get him the emergency veterinary care he so desperately needs.

We will update you as soon as we can.
Thank you all deeply for your trust and support.

Hey it’s Martha here and I’m crying for your help!
I’m 8 years old. I was sold to a family and lived with them for years until they returned me to the puppy mill.
The mill decided to breed me!!! My life was awful.
Now, I need you to save me!
I am not fond of cats. I can live with a male friend or I am confident to be by myself. I just want to have a home again.
Please save me. Foster/adopter needed. Martha is a big, strong girl. Help her please.

BARk our story...

BARk program (Borough Animal Response krew ) is made up of a total of 30+ volunteers who respond to any emergency involving an animal that is lost, stolen, found, hurt during a fire or motor vehicle accident, tethered outside for long periods of time or abused mainly within West York Boro. BARk excepts donations all year around for pet food, bowls, leashes, beds, treats, toys, litter, crates, anything animal related. BARk holds annual fundraisers all year long to raise donations ie: monetary, food, treats, again anything animal related. Around Christmas we do a Needy pet campaign delivering needed pet supplies to needy animals thru out York County. If you are in need of a care package, you need to register on our page by December 1 to pick up on a date in December. If you don’t register you won’t be able to get a care package. BARk has in the past helped with Vet bills (if the money is available). We also help veterans and their service animals with food, clothing, toiletries when available. Any questions, you can email us at [email protected]
