So sad, another fellow dog breeder murdered. 😱😢
The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the death of Paul Peavey, DOB 3/10/67. Mr. Peavey had last been heard from on the night of August 19 and was reported missing the evening of Wednesday, August 21. Just before noon on Saturday, August 24, a privately organized search party discovered the body of an adult male. Later that day, the Coroner’s Officer confirmed the identity of the decedent to be Mr. Peavey. The Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Mr. Peavey’s death.
Mr. Peavey was a breeder of Doberman dogs. It was reported that many Doberman puppies were missing from Mr. Peavey’s property. The puppies’ whereabouts are part of the ongoing investigation. In addition, investigators have not yet determined a motive for Mr. Peavey’s death. The Sheriff’s Office is sharing this information to help dispel some rumors related to the investigation, and specifically to the areas of the investigation mentioned here.
