Equine Athlete Veterinary Services is an exclusively equine practice focusing on all health care needs of all life stages of the equine athlete. We are a mobile practice dedicated to providing excellent customer service and meeting our clientsโ€™ needs while at the farm and at shows. Our veterinarians travel nationwide, offering our services for pre-purchase exams, consultations on complex lameness

and medical issues of the equine athlete, preparing performance horses for competition, and managing their health care at horse shows. We insist on remaining at the cutting edge of equine sports medicine through continually advancing our education and utilizing the latest in digital diagnostic technology. We have extensive experience with regenerative therapies, including in-house stem cells, platelet rich plasma (PRP), and IRAP II. We often combine these techniques with the elective surgical services we provide.

Kentucky Equine Hospital was established by Dr. Wes Sutter and Dr. John Cummins as a surgery, advanced imaging and field service hospital located in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Offering MRI, PET, Scintigraphy (Bone Scan) and Sports Medicine evaluations, the team at Kentucky Equine Hospital has experience servicing some of the nations top competition horses across a variety of disciplines.

Construction has officially begun on our new state-of-the-art orthopedic surgical hospital with standing CT. Upon completion, we will dedicate our current surgical building to emergency services. This will provide us the opportunity to completely separate sick horses from elective surgeries, imaging and lameness and allow us to achieve the best biosecurity design possible!

Equine Athlete Veterinary Services was established in 2014 by Dr. Brad Hill and the late Dr. Ty Wallis, with the addition of partner Dr. Krystle Oโ€™Cull in 2020. As an exclusively-equine practice designed to cater to the needs of the equine athlete at all stages of life, our veterinarians travel nationwide throughout the year, offering our services for pre-purchase exams, consultations on complex lameness and medical issues of the equine athlete, preparing performance horses for competition, and managing their health care at horse shows.

With doctors based in Michigan, Texas, California, Kentucky, and Arizona, our team is able to provide the competitive advantage of continuity of care for each individual horse.

๐Ÿด Associate Dr. Megan Sitzman is part of our North Texas team, where she focuses on lameness, sports medicine, show horse medicine, and pre-purchase exams.

โžก๏ธ Dr. Sitzman has actually been an essential part of our team for many years! She completed an externship at our North Texas location while in veterinary school and, upon graduation, formally joined Equine Athlete as a Sports Medicine Intern with partner Dr. Krystle Oโ€™Cull and the West Coast team! From there, she rejoined our North Texas team alongside founding partner, the late Dr. Ty Wallis, for her time as a Sports Medicine Fellow. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค

๐Ÿคฉ Her comprehensive understanding of the equine athlete goes beyond her veterinary medicine acumen! Dr. Sitzman grew up showing Arabians, competed in various divisions (ranging from english pleasure to working cow horse!), and earned multiple national and regional titles throughout her youth and amateur show career!
