LOOKIE!!! Even with the bad luck fairy smacking us in the head over the past year, look at the work the pigs have done! They have successfully cleared more land in 2 years, than they can clear in 20 years with chemicals that make RoundUp look nice!

TLDR: Beyond experts, In Loving Swineness Sanctuary, a Grassroots pig rescue project, misses and desperately needs the community to keep cleaning up the community! Contact info at bottom, lol.

We have never been just about pigs, the environment, or about people, its about balance. Everything has been so out of balance, not just for us but everywhere. Feels like we were stuck in an out of balance wash machine on the spin cycle for the past while, but this article and the events that led to it reminded us what we need for balance. All creatures were created with a purpose, and when humans and animals work in concert with that purpose, we achieve balance. We need our community for us to have balance.

Maybe the reason our pigs are so great at tear up roots, is because In Loving Swineness Sanctuary was created as and always will be a grassroots project. We weren't created because someone saved up for a lifelong dream or created by government or corporate entities. The people of the Escambia and Santa Rosa Communities created us, grew us, and we will only continue to exist with the help of our community.

So much over the past few years has been painful and world changing it felt wrong to ask people in our community for more when everyone was going through so much. However, we need the communities help to change the world for the good by using pigs. We can get farmers back to farming quicker, clear water retention ponds and waterways, reduce chemical load in the soil while clearing out the forest floor of built-up debris leading to all these crazy wildfires while giving rescue pigs a purpose in our community. We can absolutely do this with pigs, but the pigs can't do it without the community. Even if all the immediate financial woes were met, we would still need community volunteers to help care for the pigs, ongoing community donors and sponsors, and most of all community voices.

We need voices to tell the county, state, and anyone who will listen that they want us to continue letting rescue pigs live their best life reclaiming land, clearing woods. Because there is no way we can move forward or even exist without support from our community.

We will only close if our community wants us to close, if our community supports us, we will happily keep going. We need our cheering section, along with our volunteer and donor section.

We will not be working with the Worldwide Mini Pig Alliance, or any other organization to close our doors. Instead, we are opening our doors, even though the house is a HUGE mess, and clean up on isle 9-99 is real. Helping us clean up, helps us clean up our community.

We need desperately need funds for neuters, state mandated blood work, feed and volunteers desperately.

If you want to volunteer to help clean up our land, or you want us to clean up your land.

Instead of chemicals, a group has deployed 150 miniature pigs to eat away at a stubborn and harmful invasive plant called cogongrass.

The accident that took out the horse trailer, was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back. We now have piggies at two properties and no means of transporting them. Then today it was discovered that it looks like boney fragments in my spine, (from a different accident) have shifted. With having a volunteer shortage, fences compromized at two locations, and a desprate lack of funding, we cannot continue.

If anyone can help move pigs, help with fencing, adopt or donate we would greatly appreciate it.

I'm so sorry for the pigs and anyone who supported us that this is happening, but after loss of funding, volunteers, and now my second major injury in a year, I am at a loss of what to do.

Please share and help us save as many as we can.

Talk about when it rains it pours... Today is to the new location, and Murphy's Law is in FULL effect, and we need some help!

If anyone has an animal hauler, donate a few dollars, or come help in Cantonment for a few hours we'd really appreciate it. We want all the babies to get to their new hom, so they can all go swimming!

Sorry for the late notice. We just learned about this today. If anyone has a little time and would nominate ILSS for this grant we would sure appreciate it. The world situation has hit us just like it has everyone else in the donations and volunteers departments. It needs to be completed by midnight eastern time tomorrow (Sunday). It states MAXIMUM of 2000 characters (250-300 words) with no minimum stated. There are lots of cute pics on here to use or share your own if you have one. Please share to anyone who might complete. Thank you in advance.

Our Story

The wonderful ladies of Animal Allies Florida rescued a bunch of us from the cold wet lands last January, but quickly it became obvious there were WAY too many piggies in need. So we are now the only American Mini Pig Association recognized pig rescue in the Florida Panhandle, and the only State Veterinary recognized rescue in Florida. We are striving to work with State Vet, Disaster Animal Response Team and National Humane society, not to just save us but to lead the way on saving piggies everywhere!
