Pepper is one extra smart cookie!
This sweet girl loves learning new things and wants to people, please! With training, not only are we teaching her new things, but we are also working on her other behaviors that her family doesn't want. So far, she is learning fast, and we are excited to see where her progress takes her! Keep up the good work!

If there is a picture to describe Chamoy, it's definitely this!
Chamoy is young and full of life with loads of energy. Things that are not in his skill set are self-control and listening skills 😅.
Off to training, he goes for a puppy education on manners and basic obedience.
We are excited to work with him and help him be a better family member in his home!

This sweet girl is Stella!
If she looks familiar, that is because she is littermates with Tucker and Sugar. Stella is super friendly and sweet but has tons of anxiety. Our goals with training are not only obedience but also boosting her overall confidence. Already, she is doing better and is less fearful in new environments, but she still has a ways to go for her anxiety.
Keep up the good work!

Gromit is an almost 1 year old Great Pyrenees mixed with a Lab. Gromit took more after the Lab side and has boundless amounts of energy, and loves to play, jump, and find trouble.
So far, with training, Gromit has been a star student and loves learning new things! We are excited to continue working with him each week in our day training program!
One of his other special goals is learning how to behave around cats so his family can potentially adopt and add a kitty to the home.

Guess the dog breed! Hint he is a pure breed and not a doodle.
Charlie is already an overall great dog. Even though Charlie is already pretty good most of the time, he still needs help with his selective listening skills. We are two lessons in and can't wait to continue helping Charlie and his family learn more!

Meet Little Andy!
This sweet boy is on day 4 of day training and is definitely a fast learner! Not only are his goals to learn some self-control and listening skills, but he also definitely needs some help with his confidence outside of the house.
We are excited to help Andy be a better listener, as well as be more comfortable in the world around him!

After 4 weeks of training, now she is almost an expert on how to be the goodest girl to get all the love she needs on a daily basis. Keep up the good work, Bella!

Congratulations to Annie! She has come such a long way with her self-control and confidence in only 2 weeks!
Annie definitely packed in the training hours and put in the work during her board and train to make her family proud of her progress.
Annie definitely found an amazing home, and I'm sure she will keep up the good work with how, on top of training, her family is ❤️

Here are some tips for this Fourth of July with your dogs!

- Make sure you exercise before fireworks start. Motion helps with stress, and will help them relax before the big show. Exercise can help tire them out a bit so they don't have as much energy to feed into stress when the fireworks do start.
-Keep pets inside, leaving your dog in the backyard is not a good idea. If they become scared this may cause them to try and seek shelter elsewhere by escaping the yard to get away from the loud noises and flashing lights. If you need to potty your dog after the fireworks start, go outside with them to make sure they dog get scared and try to run away.
-Make sure collars are on your dog, with updated ID tags in case they do get out.
-Play noises on the radio or TV to help reduce noise outside. Classical music is a good option to help calm them. Be sure to start this before the fireworks start, that way the dog does not have a negative association with classical music and loud fireworks.
- Close curtains or blinds to reduce any flashing lights coming through the window.
-Have a safe space such as a kennel. Dogs are naturally den animals and like to seek small enclosed spaces when they are scared. This is also good if you are not going to be at home when fireworks are going off; this will limit any destruction from happening in the house while you are gone. Having the dog in a kennel can also help stop your dog from potentially hurting itself.
Respect your dogs fear and let them hide if necessary. Don't try to force them closer to the fireworks to make them get used to the fireworks.
-Distractions, you can try engaging activities with your dog during this time, such as playing with toys if they will play, or training with high value treats. Many dogs who have fear and anxiety may lose interest in food, toys, or affection.
-Stay calm, dogs look to you as their owner to decide how to respond. If you are nervous or on edge it can cause your dog to do the same thing.

The 4th of july is just around the corner now! While its exciting for some with barbecues and fireworks, for others it is stressful with strangers in their space and lots of loud noises.

-Thunder shirt or compression wrap. This varies depending on your dogs personality if it will help or not. For some dogs the compression can help relax them for a duration of time. Just like weighted blankets help some people relax, thundershirts can help some dogs relax as well.
-Vet, you can talk to your vet beforehand about different medications such as melatonin to help keep your pets calm during fireworks.

-Do not scold or yell at your dog for any fearful or anxious behaviors. You yelling at your dog is communicating that you are stressed and anxious as well and may only cause more stress for your dog. Dogs being scared of fireworks is a natural and genetic survival Instinct. In the wild loud noises/vibrations can be seen as dangerous for example falling trees, fires, earthquakes, ect.

-Training. Start a month or week before the big day. Turn on your TV or play firework noises on your phone (YouTube has lots of soundtracks of firework noises), and then feed your dog or have a play session. Each time before you feed or play with your dog turn on the firework noises and gradually turn up the volume over several sessions.
This way the dog slowly gets used to the noises at a lower volume over time with a positive association with food or toys before the actual day.

We hope you have a safe, happy 4th of July for you and your pets!
