SCRAM is a non-profit, 501c3 tax exempt, animal welfare organization. We provide for vet care as needed and have the animals spay/neutered. We prepare these pets for adoption to good homes where the animals' ne

eds and nature are respected. We advocate for animal interests and to ensure animal protection laws are properly enforced. We work with the media to bring attention to animal issues and raise awareness about the need for change. We pull from the impound facilities to include sick, injured, elderly senior (over 7 yrs) cats that have been confined to a small, cold, dark cube for weeks to months. SCRAM will give EVERY cat a chance at a better life no matter what! What YOU can do:
- Spay/neuter your pets and keep them indoors when not on a leash or confined in a fenced yard.

- Intervene when you see an animal being abused or mistreated.

- Call SCRAM or your local humane rescue group if you find a lost, stray or feral cat in need of help.

- Communicate with your elected officials about improving our animal protection laws and ordinances. *Volunteer your time and talents to help with animal causes or foster a SCRAM cat! SCRAM has a nice selection of cats ranging in age from 10 weeks to 8 years. All cats are vet checked, vaccinated, tested and spayed/neutered (age permitting of course). Our cats are placed in foster care where the foster care providers are carefully screened. We do hold in-store adoptions at local Petco and Petsmart stores as well as place cats/kittens for adoption in the Love A Pet Center. Not all SCRAM cats are listed on our adoptable pet list as they sometimes get adopted before they are listed. We have found this to happen frequently. We have experienced an unusual number of stray kitten calls, most of them orphaned due to the severe weather displacing so many. If you are considering adopting a kitten please take into consideration that kittens are not toys for young children. If you have a small children please consider adopting an older cat who is more tolerant of a young child. Please teach your children that these are living animals and not toys and they should treat them tenderly and respectfully. Cats are wonderful, loving creatures who deserve the love of a family. We look forward to meeting you! Our Adoption Center is located in the Woodbury Petsmart Store in Tamarack Village and Petsmart in Lakeville/Apple Valley store. We are at Blaine petsmart on Baltimore the Second Saturday and Fourth Friday of each month. Our sponsors (to name a few) include: Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract/Cat Attract Litter, The Hilton Corp., Royal Canine Inc., Hampton Inn, Super Valu Inc., Hills Science Diet, Petsmart Charities, IAMS, Petco Foundation, IDEXX Corp, Bayer Animal Health, Pet Ag Corp., Boehringer Ingelheim Corp.,Purina ProPlan, Petsmart, The St. Paul Hotel, MyVaporclean commercial steam cleaners and the many private donors who support our mission. We thank them for their financial and product support! Without their generosity we could not continue rescue efforts of stray/homeless cats and kittens! COURTESY POSTINGS: We offer this service to private individuals who rescue stray cats, provide for the spay/neuter and vet care and need an outlet for adopting the cats into loving homes. This is extended at no charge for Petfinder does not charge SCRAM for this service.

The crisis facing rescue groups across the country is the collateral damage from the pandemic. Top that off with the veterinarian shortage and the higher costs associated for the care of all those animals and we have the worst case of pet overpopulation in decades. For over a year we have seen shelters and rescue groups at capacity or over! Where are they all going to go? Owners are surrendering their pets for their own reasons and expect someone else to take care of their responsibilities. Volunteers are burned out and taking mental health breaks, some groups have had to fold. In the midst of this chaos are victims who have done nothing wrong. Many are found by people who found them in their yards or along the road, some found deceased or sick/injured. Inflation has caused many groups financial hardship. Vets cost money and lots of it! So, remember when you donate money to charity verify that they are legitimate. Have good standing in the community and have established a long history are good indicators. I ask you to consider fostering, helping hands are most needed and are priceless! Please help us save lives!

We can all help to make a difference.

Rescue groups are facing a crisis. The need for rescue services has increased dramatically to the point where groups are having to fold for lack foster care providers who volunteer their services in their homes. Many volunteers have taken mental health breaks because they felt they were unable to fulfill their responsibilities. Inflation is hurting everyone! What people don't realize is that only greedy corporations can change that simply by lowering their prices instead of keeping prices high for lining their pockets with profits and dividends for their investors who typically are already rich! The animals are not getting enough medical care from their owners because they don't have the money. Our local humane societies have failed to provide any services to control the population through spay neuter programs once available for the public are no longer an option. All I can do is ask for help from the public to support the rescue efforts, send them your support through various forms of donations. 💯 percent of all donations goes directly to the veterinary care of animals, including the important spay neuter programs!! Thank you!

Public may not be aware of the current pet food recalls. Purina has been under investigation for a while now and don't cooperate with requests from the FDA about food safety standards and pets who have been sickened by their pet food products, many have died from complications related to food safety issues. Let this serve as a reminder to check their website for the food recalls! It could mean the difference between life and death for pets!

Reports of sick pets have increased over recent weeks.
