This 4th of July, open your heart to a new beginning—Mama Queenie is ready to find her forever throne.

About a year ago, Queenie had her first litter of kittens and embraced motherhood with all the love in the world. Now that her babies have grown and moved on, it’s her turn to be cherished.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming Freedom Posts, where we’ll be highlighting some of the amazing animals in our care who are ready to declare their independence—from foster life to forever homes.

Each of these cats and dogs has their own story of resilience, love, and hope. They’ve been devoted mamas, loyal companions, and quiet survivors—and now, it’s finally their turn to shine.

Starting soon, we’ll be sharing their stories—one by one—to help them find the peace, love, and freedom they deserve.

EMERGENCY POST!!!

Cypress was just rushed to ALAC as an emergency. He’s been on Clavamox and eye meds for a simple upper respiratory infection that suddenly turned for the worse this morning. At 2am he was up running and playing and at 730am his foster found him limp, open mouth breathing, and drooling. He needs immediate emergency intervention which he is getting but it will be costly. Please help us help him. He’s just a baby.

Another emergency… 😢

Peanut is once again hospitalized. This time with her kitten Chong. She is having diarrhea again and not eating. She is down to 4-5 lbs. Chong lost 1.5 oz over 2-3 days and also started having diarrhea. He spiked a fever of 104 degrees and both were admitted to Avon Lake Animal Clinic yesterday. They spent the night while awaiting test results trying to determine what is causing their issues.

After a couple of years roaming the streets, Andy has settled beautifully into indoor life—and he’s loving every cozy minute of it. Independent and confident, Andy has that classic “cool cat” energy. He’d do best with a mellow feline companion who respects his space, and while he may not snuggle up with the resident dog, he’s totally content coexisting peacefully.

Andy is a big fan of bird and squirrel watching, and when he’s not keeping an eye on the backyard wildlife, you’ll find him curled up on the couch for a long, luxurious nap. 💤

He enjoys ear scratches, and on his own terms, he’ll even let you hold and rock him like a baby—a true softie under that cool exterior. 🐱💙

Sweet Madeline went home with her foster last night, ate a little on her own, fell asleep in bed with her foster mama and passed away peacefully in her sleep. We believe she rallied to come home so she could pass in her comfortable place. God speed Madeline. See you on the other side. 💔
