Before you purchase or adopt a dog, please make sure you do your research! There are too many working breeds being placed into pet homes where they don’t thrive. They end up under exercised, under trained, emotionally humanized way too much, have no rules, boundaries, and structure, and placed in far too many failing situations.

When you see a working dog like this, you think it’s cool. They look pretty. You visually understand that they are bred to herd livestock. Key word “herd”

What we hear almost everyday: “I have a shepherd or an Aussie or a cattle dog and they nip my kids ankles…they nip my guests….they nip people around our property. They chase my cats, etc, etc. Unfortunately, we can’t have that. We can’t have a dog that bites. What can we do?”

Our response will be:
-You should’ve done your research
-You shouldn’t have gotten this breed to begin with
-Invest in training the dog AND following through
-Listen to your trainer!
-Be open minded! Some people are mentally old school to learn new things
-Change your lifestyle
-Add rules, boundaries, structure, and provide communication clarity to the dog
-If that doesn’t work for you and your lifestyle, then our only other recommendation is to rehome the dog because you are not a good fit for them.

We see far too many of these dogs get tossed out into shelters like trash, or even euthanized because they failed to raise and train the dogs properly.

📣ANNOUNCEMENT: New Policies 📣

Starting in August 2024, we will no longer be providing boarding drop off/pick up on Sundays moving forward.

Starting in September 2024, we will NOT be accepting new clients for training and boarding. New inquiries for daycare will be accepted in for evaluations. We will re-open our doors to new clients most likely the start of the new year in 2025.

Established clients will still be able to attend services regularly for daycare, training, and boarding at their convenience.

If you already have boarding reservations booked in August where you have designated drop off or pick up for Sunday, we will be reaching out to you to alter your reservation. To discuss more about your reservation in detail, you can reach out to us via email [email protected].

Coal • This big guy is with us for a 6 week behavioral program. He has been exhibiting more aggression issues in the house with his family.

This is an extensive program that he will undergo over the coming weeks. Strict structure, constant training, physical/mental exercise, and just having an overall balance in his life is everything he needs. His transition to our place has passed and now we can get going with more training and progression!

Bruski & Penny getting some sun rays! We do alot of short outdoor sessions due to the heat. They get longer sessions outdoors in the early morning and evening timeline to beat the heat.

Reminder to always give your dogs water throughout the day. Keep them cool indoors, in the shade, and/or in the AC. Heat strokes are very common during spring, summer, and fall.

Just a friendly reminder of how our communications work with us. We are all hands on with the dogs in our care as they deserve our undivided attention at all times.

For detailed and thorough questions, you will be directed to reach out to us via email.

Please DO NOT use the PetExec app portal to communicate with us. We will most likely not receive it as they get lost in spam/junk quite frequently.

Thank you for your time and understanding!

The definition of “Training” - To teach a particular skill or behavior through practice and instruction over a period of time

This goes around the board whether if you are undergoing dog training, fitness training, work training, etc.

You know what all of these have in common? In order to improve on your skill set, training is constantly ONGOING.

You can’t just go to the gym for a month and expect your body to magically form rock hard abs and tight bulky muscles. You have to consistently attend the gym on a regular basis to build your body up to where you want it to be.

You can’t efficiently complete your work tasks without undergoing extensive training courses on how to do them first. By doing your daily work, you are also training yourself to better your performance over time. Because you practice.

You can’t train your dog for a week and expect the dog(s) to be perfect, or to see immediate progress like it’s magic. Dogs are animals. Dogs are routined. Dogs require constant instruction, guidance, repetition, and you guessed it….consistency. Give your dogs the consistency, time and work to properly train them to achieve the training results you want.

There’s no such thing as an “easy fix” for anything in life. Training is ALWAYS ongoing. Training NEVER stops.

We are very proud of Jasper and Eleanor! Jasper has a bad habit of being dog reactive especially on leash which makes his owners nervous about allowing him to interact with any dog.

Eleanor is a perfect pup who just needed to grow up a little bit more to be able to finally be introduced to her cousin Jasper and they had a very positive interaction one on one!
