For many years, it was our family tradition that the day after Thanksgiving we mapped out the Mall, Walmart, Target or any store that we wanted to purchase from for Black Friday.

We want to inspire you to think of us and our animals on Black Friday, and invite you to visit Goose Creek Antique Mall, where you will discover treasures for every member of your family and all of your friends.

We are located in room two in the back left-hand corner, where you will find an incredible offer of 25% off everything on Friday.

All proceeds will benefit Animals within Berkeley County.

We are thrilled to partner with Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus PETSinc Lakeside Animal Rescue Libby and Mace's Place Animal Rescue Journey Home Rescue Alliance Danielle Zulauf Zuck.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of animals in need, helping them meet their daily needs.

All items are tax-free and have been generously donated by our supporters.

You will find an array of unique items, but be sure to arrive early before they sell out.

Here's another inspiring story of resilience and hope, featuring an incredible little girl named Olivia.

A little over a week ago, employees at Knightsville Veterinary Clinic made a heartwarming discovery - a crate left outside their door with a beautiful note and this stunning girl.

It’s possible that whoever left her was desperate, overwhelmed, and didn't know where else to turn, but chose a compassionate place to leave her.

To her previous owners please know that you chose a safe haven for her. She was found quickly, brought inside out of the cold, kept warm, and cared for.

Livie is now under the care of Lakeside Animal Rescue. She's been spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and placed with a wonderful foster family where she's loved, safe, and recovering beautifully.

Robin and Lakeside will make sure she finds the perfect home - a family who will let her run, play, learn, and grow into the silly, happy girl she is meant to be.

We hate knowing that life became overwhelming and her previous owner believed she was better off without them, but we are thankful that they left her where they knew she would be found and loved.

She's safe now, and she's deeply loved.

Thank you Josh and Tammie, her amazing foster parents, for giving Livie a warm and loving place to heal and flourish. Thank you Knightsville Vetrinary for calling Lakeside Rescue. Thank you Lakeside Rescue for saying yes, and giving her a second chance

Her foster family named her Olivia “Livie.”

She's about 10 months old, a shepherd (possibly mixed), and she's sweet, goofy, and full of energy. Livie is ready for her very own family.

If you're interested in adopting this precious girl, please submit an application at www.lakesideanimalrescue.com.

Livie deserves her happily ever after — could that be with you?

Plan ahead and keep your furbabies safe.

Plan ahead and keep your furbabies safe.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we wanted to share some tips to help keep your fur babies safe this holiday.

Tempting Foods 🍗
Please avoid leaving food unattended, as well as sharing any of these common foods: pie, nuts, butter and other fats, candied sweet potatoes or yams, raisins, currants, grapes, stuffing, gravy, garlic, chives, onions, scallions, and cranberry sauce.

Home for the Holidays 🎊
Extra noise and holiday guests can put stress on everyone, especially our furry friends. We recommend creating a quiet, safe space for them to be able to retreat to and relax when the festivities get to be too much for them.

Unexpected Exits 🚪
Ensure your pet's microchip and ID tags are up to date with the correct information, just in case they manage to slip out or get lost amidst the holiday hustle and bustle.

Dangerous Decorations 🎃
Be mindful of decorations your pet may want to play with, chew on, or eat, and keep lit candles out of reach.

Holiday Hours: November 27th- Closed

You know we have to do a special post for our president’s namesake.

She will go quickly with such great attributes, so get your adoption application in quickly.

Meet Olivia, a 4-month-old small-breed puppy who radiates 100% joy, 0% apology, and 200% unconditional love, inspiring boundless happiness.

Here are some uplifting facts:

🐶Looks like she was masterfully crafted from spare muppet parts.

💋 Gives kisses and gentle nibble-attacks, spreading love and warmth (consent optional, enthusiasm mandatory).

🍺Has the palate of a college freshman: Goldfish crackers and Busch Light (don’t worry, she only sniffs the beer… probably).

😈 Light enough to carry but mischievous enough to regret it, teaching us to seize the day.

😜 Will absolutely judge you from beneath her fluffy eyebrows, reminding us to stay authentic.

Olivia is looking for a forever family who appreciates:

A scruffy face that looks like it woke up from a 3-day nap, symbolizing a fresh start.

A personal space invader, encouraging us to be open-hearted.

A snack connoisseur with no standards, reminding us to appreciate life's simple pleasures.

If you’re ready to adopt a tiny, tipsy-vibes goblin who will love you endlessly—and nibble your fingers like artisan baguettes -- apply through Cindy Lou’s Legacy Sanctuary.

Olivia's adoption fee is $400. Cindy Lou’s Legacy Sanctuary. Cindy Lou’s Legacy Sanctuary

About The Friends of Berkeley Animal Center

Friends of Berkeley Animal Center is a 501(c)(3) created by animal loving volunteers to support the Berkeley Animal Center. The employees and volunteers of the Berkeley Animal Center are passionate about the care and well-being of animals and we are passionate about helping them to provide it. In the tradition of “friends of” groups, we stepped up to the challenge of supporting their efforts to find homes for the abandoned and surrendered animals of Berkeley County.

Only by bringing together hardworking volunteers, a caring community, and generous donors are we able to accomplish our goals. We work hard to raise funds, organize events, grow volunteerism, promote public education, and encourage community and business involvement for the benefit of the growing homeless animal population of Berkeley County, SC.

Our biggest dream is to fund the building of a modern facility. One that can meet the demands of the increase in animal needs that Berkeley County has seen with it’s ever-growing people population. We closely coordinate with the staff of the Berkeley Animal Center to understand their needs, so they can focus on the daily care and adoption of these defenseless animals who so desperately just want help and homes. Together we are a winning team!
