More from our visit at @speed_weenies_onhowell
We took our group adventurer’s to @speed_weenies_onhowell last week. They surprised us with their reactions and had a great time! Thank you Speedweenies on Howell for a great time!
Now accepting new dog walking clients!
We live in Wisconsin - of course, we are going to have snow days! ❄️ But we don’t let snow get in the way of making sure your pets are well taken care of and get to engage in enrichment!
Although snow sometimes causes a challenge of getting outside for a full walk - we encourage puzzle mats, puzzle toys, shredding, tug-a-war/play with toys, and overall just showing them love! 🩵
Hope everyone stays safe out in the snow! ☃️
Fun day at Canine Einstein today
We wish we could walk all the dogs everyday! 🥰
Ever wondered if your dog would enjoy an Urban adventure decompression walk? Check out Brownies extended adventure from last night!
Urban Adventure Decompression walks are a wonderful way to help your dog decompress from urban living! It allows them to connect with nature, lowers stress levels and helps with anxiety.
Our team ensures that every dog has a great time, while doing enriching activities that are personalized to each dogs preferences!
Urban adventures are 2 or 3 hour long visits and can be done solo or as part of our group hikes!
What does a dog walker do on her day off? Walk of course! This is my happy place- the place I come to think, reflect, feel gratitude and find peace in a crazy world. There have been a lot of changes with MKE Paws and @canineeinstein this past year. Today, I am filled with gratitude for every one of the struggles, the trials and the triumphs. Today, I give thanks for everything and everyone in my life.
@saltypawsmke for the win!
Does your pup seem bored or restless? It might be time to step up their enrichment game! Providing daily activities that challenge and stimulate their minds can make a big difference in their overall well-being. Just take a cue from this furry friend, who clearly has no shortage of fun tearing apart a cardboard box! 😂🐶 #everydayenrichment #happydoghappylife #doglovers

Do you want to build in a strong recall with your dog? Here are a few tips:
🐾 use short practice sessions: making sessions too long can increase frustration in your dog. Instead, incorporate short play breaks during training and keep sessions shorter
🐾 when practicing any cue- but especially recall- practice it often and in a variety of environments. Dogs generalize the cue when we do that. It’s important to practice recall indoors and outdoors and in a variety of environments.
🐾 make sure coming to you does not predict the fun is ending! I see many pet guardians who teach recall, then only use it to call their dog away from other dogs, to come inside, etc. This is the best way to guarantee your dog will not come! When they come to you, it should be fun and rewarding far more often than it is not.
In this video, I’m training Loki, a young Doberman. He has a great recall already, but during one of our “play breaks” I practiced a few recalls in the house. I keep it fun by tossing a treat away from me when he comes, allowing him to run After it. This keeps it fun for him and rewards him for reliably coming back when I call him.
Remember to keep sessions short and fun!
With all this months talk of canine fitness, I thought we should touch on a few pointers to keep your pup safe with the possible increased activity.
🐶Be sure to warm your dogs muscles up before any strenuous activity. Whether you are doing swimming, running, competitive sports, or other high stress activity, remember that your dog needs a decent warm up. None of us would ever wake up, and immediately go for a 10 mile run- we would want to do a warm up first to prevent injury, your canine friend is the same! A warm up is more than nice- it is necessary to keep your dog happy and healthy
🐶 Remember to include "active rest days" for your dog. What is this? Just like us, your dog cannot push hard every single day. They need days where they are getting active rest- a nice long walk or sniffari are perfect on these days. Let your dog have the day to explore and move without being too intense.
🐶 Fitness is more than being able to run long and hard. Total canine fitness includes cardio, strength training, balance work, body awareness, flexibility and active recovery. Take time to work on each of these areas to help your dog have the best fitness possible.
🐶When you are doing any activity with your dog, it's important to monitor them for fatigue, stress or anxiety. Our dogs will often push themselves and not let us know that they are getting too tired or are feeling very fatigued and stress. Be aware of your dogs limits, and honor them.
🐶Be sure your dog has enough food and water. Dehydration is a real risk for dogs that are doing high intensity activities . Dogs need to drink and replenish fluids just like you do when working out.
🐶Be aware of your surroundings: is the ground too hot or cold, are there hazards like nails, broken glass, etc that can injure your pet? Be aware of potential hazards and direct your pet away from them.
