Mia recently went on a morning adventure with one of our day fosters. Here’s what she had to say about this special girl. “Mia is a delight to be around and she is very well mannered. Like Princess Mia of Genovia (for my princess diaries fans) she is a true princess. Regal, calm, and kind are words that come to mind to describe her. She does great hiking and after burning off some energy wasn't pulling on the leash. She does go alert when she sees other dogs or small animals but listens well to commands. We had lunch at OHSO Brewery where she was very behaved under the table while I ate and greeted individuals or children who came over to say hi. Her favorite place to be is the park! Lounging under a tree for some cuddles or sniffing the grass made her feel at peace. Mia already knows paw and sit, and has the perfect temperament to show you she is an excellent dog. She likes car rides too and soaking up any attention she gets. Give this sweet girl a chance who is ready to be an owner's best friend! Kitty update time! "He’s doing great! He adjusted easily. I was introducing him to my 4-year-old cat, Oliver, in stages. I was prepared to follow Oliver’s lead and go as slow as necessary, but on Friday at 4am…Oliver decided he was ready to meet Charlie. Their first meeting went well and they’ve been (mostly) best buddies since.
Oliver is teaching Charlie manners and letting him know when he’s being too wild. Sometimes I have to redirect Charlie with a toy, but overall Charlie is receptive to learning those boundaries and catching on very quickly.
He’s curious about everything and loves to play…especially chasing and pouncing on balls and mice toys. He’s very brave and not bothered by anything…he even comes rushing over to stand IN the sink whenever I turn the water on.
AND he’s a major snuggle bug. He loves to be held, getting and giving kisses and being rubbed on his belly. Anytime I lay down, if he’s not busy playing, he’ll find a way to snuggle into my arms or plop down next to my face.

We’re excited to give you an update about our little Wally and our Mommy-Mania campaign! As some of you know our precious boy, Wally, was being bullied by his two siblings, likely because there wasn’t enough to go around prior to his arrival in the shelter system. He is being treated for bite wounds and an upper respiratory infection. Poor guy even lost some of his hair. We’re also making sure he’s getting to a nice healthy weight. And look at him now! He’s looking better and feeling better each day. Wally is excited to tell you all that because of HALO supporters like YOU, we’ve raised almost $16,000 to help him and all the Mommy-Mania pets in our recent campaign.
