When your puppy bites, avoid pushing them away. This action may unintentionally escalate playtime and complicate training. Attend our Human/Puppy Training Workshops with Dog Whisperette at The Bark Yard in Pikeville, TN, every Saturday starting July 13, 2024, to acquire structured training techniques. Call Jennifer at 2406826342 to reserve your spot.

I just got a new puppy, why is it chewing on everything? Just like babies, puppies use their mouths to explore new things around them and to help break the teeth through. Redirect the chewing by providing adequate chew toys or frozen bones to help relieve the chewing and to keep their curiosity occupied. If your puppy is chewing on you, do not push them away, your initiating play and affirming bad habits, instead pick your puppy up cradle them on their backs until they calm, then give them an acceptable chewing tool and walk away.
