Oysters are natural water filters, actively cleaning their environment by consuming particles and nutrients from the water. They are efficient filter feeders, meaning they draw water into their bodies and extract food and other particles using their gills. This process removes excess nutrients, like nitrogen and phosphorus, and other pollutants, contributing to improved water quality.

Our Story

A 501c3 non profit organization located in Deep East Texas in the Piney Woods close to the Louisiana border, just outside the tiny town of Cushing. My name is Chris Cross and I am the only person that cares for over 100 animals. I fund most of this out of my own pocket so I depend on your donations to save lives. RRRAR Inc. is mainly a wildlife refuge. A place for wildlife to be safe and run free. I am a retired wildlife rehabber, and vet tech. But I also rescue at risk Great Danes, foster for the local shelters and raise bottle kittens. There have been a lot of exotic critters come to the refuge... from parrots, rheas, wolves, big cats, to even a buffalo!! Ecclesiastes 3:19 For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.
