Distemper cases are on the rise!! This deadly virus affects lots of wild animals also and is spread rapidly. Why is it on the rise? Because people aren’t vaccinating their dogs!! It is VERY IMPORTANT TO VACCINATE YOUR DOGS!!

Cats lack an enzyme called glucuronyl transferase. This is important for the Cytochrome p450 liver metabolism pathway. This makes cats very susceptible to ALL kinds of toxicity, including plant, NSAIDS (like aspirin, ibuprofen and Tylenol), chocolate and caffeine (methylxanthines), lead, zinc, and many, many types of pesticides.
Avoid oils high in phenols and eugenols for direct application (topical or internal) such as, Basil, Birch, Cinnamon, Clove, Fennel, Melaleuca, Oregano, Peppermint, Thyme, and Wintergreen as well as oils high in d-limonene which includes all Citrus oils.
The main thing is, don’t give oils to cats topically or internally and when in doubt, ask your vet

The sun is shining here and the birds are hungry and singing!! I have been making bird food and putting it out all day!!
1 cup lard, 1 cup crunchy peanut butter, 2 cups bird seed with black oil sunflower seeds. Mix together ( I squish it with my bare hands) roll into balls about the size of your palm and put them into feeders, porch railings, the fork of the tree, I smash some into the hole feeds and rub some on the rough bark of some trees. You can smash it into pinecones and hang... They all love it!!

need exercise? Go to your local shelter. Walk or bath shelter doggies there... clean out kennels... you get your exercise AND do some good!!

Our Story

A 501c3 non profit organization located in Deep East Texas in the Piney Woods close to the Louisiana border, just outside the tiny town of Cushing. My name is Chris Cross and I am the only person that cares for over 100 animals. I fund most of this out of my own pocket so I depend on your donations to save lives. RRRAR Inc. is mainly a wildlife refuge. A place for wildlife to be safe and run free. I am a retired wildlife rehabber, and vet tech. But I also rescue at risk Great Danes, foster for the local shelters and raise bottle kittens. There have been a lot of exotic critters come to the refuge... from parrots, rheas, wolves, big cats, to even a buffalo!! Ecclesiastes 3:19 For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.
