Big Winnie has just completed her private lesson program! Her handlers did an amazing job, patiently practicing over the holidays leading up to a final session that involved navigating high-intensity distractions (oaken). It’s inspiring to see clients embrace their small dogs’ strength and resilience, treating them like the powerful badasses they truly are instead of overly coddling them. 🔥👊

Had an amazing opportunity to present a K9 lecture and demo for the criminology class at Hellgate High School today! Huge thanks to for stepping in as Oaken’s chew toy.

Reflecting on my own experience, when I was 14, a K9 team came to my career day. They let a student jump in the bite suit, and I jumped at the chance! I got tackled by the K9 and slammed into a locker, leaving me bruised but grinning from ear to ear. That moment stuck with me.

Bringing my own decoy along this time- it was great to engage with such enthusiastic students. It’s exciting to see the next generation considering dog training as a potential career path!

Meet Boston—a 7-month-old, tenacious little heeler who just kicked off his training with me tonight. I’m all about dogs like him! They’re a blast to train and channel, but without a solid job or training plan, they can easily stir up chaos. I love their gritty spirit, sharp minds, and sheer toughness. Built to get kicked in the face by cattle and think ‘Sweet! Game on! 😈🔥🐾

One day, I’ll have one of these badass dogs in my pack! 🔥

Huge congratulations to this amazing group of dog trainers for earning their NePoPo® Gold Certifications in Arizona this week! 🐾✨

The energy and camaraderie in this group were truly exceptional. Every morning, they came together with full “ignition,” eager to dive into discussions, role-playing exercises, and hands-on breakout sessions with their dogs.

This diverse group traveled from all corners of the country—California, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona—to be part of this incredible experience. Each participant was humble, open-minded, and incredibly supportive of one another, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and growth.

The curriculum focused on the NePoPo® alphabet, bridging the pet industry and working dog worlds. We also explored small business strategies and project management to round out the week.

A big thank you to for creating such a powerful platform to learn and teach within the NePoPo® system. And a heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this week so enriching and inspiring!

Big Grimm is back at RYP. This 120 malinois is one of the biggest I’ve ever seen - but such a rad dog to work with . He came here last spring to work on his foundations : reward systems, leash comm systems and training culture overall. His handler is wonderful and put in GREAT WORK. He’s now back to start working on e collar/off leash languages…and let me tell you he’s a different dog (in a good way).

He’s confident, driven, enthusiastic and ripe for more training. He learned today that feeling low level stim = good things are coming. By learning to love controlling the direftional language of electronics we build a strong confident base more dynamic training can be built upon.

The premier of ‘To Build a Fire’ 🔥 just played for the first time in Missoula Montana this evening. This adaptation of Jack London’s famous story featured my little gsd Liesel Weapon.

The director did an outstanding job storytelling and (call me biased) Liesel was a show stopper on the big screen. Keep an eye out for this film making its way around the country at film festivals! 🎞️

This project was very special to me. Jack London had a tremendous impact on me as a kiddo. His books were a big player in my fascination with dogs and the mountain west.

To be called upon to help with the production of this WITH one of my dogs was a serendipitous experience.

Jack London and I also share a birthday (January 12) and principal filming ended on January 12 two years ago. To see the final product tonight was very special.

Dear Missoula (and surrounding areas),

For the forseeable future I (Chris) will be scaling back board and train programs and ONLY offering private lesson programs that pair off my video courses now available for purchase and streaming on www.workyourpack.com

WYP video courses has been a many year project with many awesome trainers involved to get where it is.

I am excited to announce I will now be teaming up with other like minded trainers around the country (and Canada) to develop more hybrid learning experiences for their clients too!

The model we are working to build is that students have a multimedia reference course for pre study - THEN they can work in person with trainers within the network for application and nuanced coaching. Many of these trainers also include remote, live online classroom option too!

Our aim is to better educate, entertain, ensnare and drive home concepts for long term success and harmony between humans and their canine companions.

Between the new courses in production and the travel for teaching/filming my schedule is a bit all over the place (hence the private lesson only programs for awhile)
