Second, please excuse our unfinished and untidy store. Our expansion is a work in progress, and we'll be working through the construction for another couple of weeks. About Us

Welcome to EarthWise Pet Madison! We invite you to stop in and treat yourself and your pet to a unique pet store experience! You’ll find a clean and inviting space with healthy all-natural products, a self-service dog wash, and a full-service grooming salon for your dog’s grooming needs. We’re friendly, knowledgeable, ready to provide exceptional service, and passionate about keeping pets happy and healthy!

Our Story

Your local store owners, Jeff and Tim, along with dog Siena, opened the first EarthWise Pet Madison on University Avenue in August 2017. After spending years working in IT and software support, we were ready for a change, but we hadn’t found our passion quite yet. It was the sudden loss of our first dog, a beagle named Dolce, that sparked an interest in pet nutrition and a strong desire to provide our pets with the healthiest diet and environment.

A few months after Dolce’s passing, we discovered EarthWise, and we knew it was the right fit for us. We like to think he sent us a sign, and it would have been Dolce’s dream for us to own a pet store filled with food and treats. Becoming owners of an EarthWise store checked all our boxes – a store we could take pride in owning, a mission to keep pets happy and healthy, and what’s better than getting to interact with your furry companions every day!

We’re so glad we jumped into owning our own business, and we can’t imagine our lives without all our smiling customers and your amazing pets!

Our Expertise

Providing top-notch service is our mission. To do so, we must be knowledgeable. We continually research new products, and we’re geeks when it comes to pet nutrition. Did we mention we are certified pet nutrition specialists? We’ve completed the DNM University Pet Food Nutrition and Raw Food Nutrition Specialist courses. Being knowledgeable helps us with our goal to help you find the most biologically appropriate foods for your pet.

Our Products

We feature all-natural foods and treats for your cats and dogs. We recommend biologically appropriate diets when possible and offer a variety of frozen-raw and freeze-dried raw foods that most closely resemble the ancestral diets of cats and dogs. We also offer several high quality dry and wet food brands that have no artificial colors, fillers, by-products, chemical preservatives, or other nasty stuff. Plus, we carry bone broth, goat’s milk, and other nutritional supplements to give your pet the nutritional boost they need.

Your dogs and cats will love our expansive selection of natural chews and treats, many of them from Wisconsin producers. We also offer a variety of fun and unique toys, puzzles, collars, leashes, harnesses, crates, beds, and other accessories for your cat or dog.

For those with small furry animals, such as hamsters, gerbils, rats, and rabbits, we offer a small selection of the necessities, including food, hay, and bedding. For your wild birds, we carry a premium line of birdseed made here in Wisconsin.

Are you looking for something we don’t stock? Ask us to special order! If we can find it, it often arrives within a couple of days.

Our Services

Our exceptional groomers will treat your dog like one of their own and take great care to make your dog’s experience as comfortable as possible. We undergo many steps to provide a clean, safe, and low-stress grooming experience for your dog. For example, we do not use cage dryers for the safety and well-being of your dog. We also do not block schedule, which minimizes the time your dog spends in the salon. We only use high-quality shampoos and conditioners with no harsh chemicals, which are better for your dog’s coat and the environment. Finally, our groomers will meet with you to personalize your grooming experience and make sure we meet you and your dog’s needs.

Do you have a dirty dog and prefer to bathe them yourself? You'll love our convenient self-service dog wash. We provide the shampoo, dryer, towels, and clean up afterward!

Our Community

We strive to support our pet community by hosting, sponsoring, and donating to a variety of pet-focused causes. Some of the local groups we support include 9 Lives Rescue, Capital K9s, Czar’s Promise, and Fetch WI Rescue.

We are also proud members of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce and honored to be recognized as a Certified LGBT Business Enterprise by The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
