Cupcake’s Ear Mites
If bugs make your skin crawl just by looking at them, imagine being infested. Our veterinary team captured a video showing what's under the microscope—Cupcake's ear is swarming with ear mites.
Ear mites, scientifically known as Otodectes cynotis, are tiny parasites that infest the ears of cats, dogs, and other animals. Despite their small size, these mites can cause significant discomfort and potential health issues if not addressed promptly.

Prince update!
We’re making slow progress and letting him lead the way. First thing is just calming down. He’s eating like a champ now, days later.
Small gains. Small kitty. Small steps. Well get there.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to Jake’s raffle.
The winner is….STEPHANIE FANELLI

While everyone is out partying on a Friday night, volunteers are trying their hardest to make sure this tiny tot, no more than 5 weeks old, makes it. Video shows his foot and tail injury.

HELP‼️WE NEED OUR SUPPORTERS 🎶
We understand we may sound repetitive, but we'll continue to advocate for the injured, weak, elderly, and neglected animals. Despite our best efforts, staying ahead of our medical bills is nearly impossible, especially with the recent influx of medical cases.
We can't stress enough how crucial donations are for us to keep assisting those that other organizations might turn away due to financial concerns. We're endlessly anxious and tired, but committed to our mission. Please help us continue to support the overlooked animals that need us most.

#WATERBURY22 UPDATE
Alvin is one of our #Waterbury22 cats.
When we first posted Alvin (after initial intake), the individual responsible for his abandonment commented under his picture to have him do circus tricks.
This not only identified the abandoner, but also confirmed that these cats were indeed "pets," contradicting the claim that they were merely a group of "ferals" taken in by well-meaning individuals. These false assertions were unfortunately accepted by the Waterbury Police Department, resulting in no prosecution.
Now, here’s Alvin, performing his tricks—quite remarkable for a supposed "stray."
Our rescue is being inundated with requests for help. To help more cases like Alvin’s, we need funding/support.

Further scenes from CJ getting his hooves done yesterday afternoon. We love it when the farrier comes out because it makes our horses feel better, even if they are sassy about it.
Reminder: while this looks crazy intense, it’s not any worse than getting your toenails clipped. Hopefully smells different than that though.
Farm life!
Today our horses”got their toenails diiiiid.” It’s so cool to see the farrier work on our livestock. While it looks forceful to the untrained eye, the horses are used to it and our farrier is very good about listening to their needs and giving them breaks as needed. It takes a lot of effort to keep these guys up! We are grateful for professionals who know what our animals need.
Humphrey rebounds!
Some of you may remember the photo of Humphrey just after he was brought to us by a good member of the community after finding him in the middle of the road. It’s been a week today. This is a video of Humphrey getting food carefully. He has gained back over half his body weight and thanks to good meds and care, his upper respiratory has been beaten back.
He’s doing so well. It’s truly a miracle. He didn’t have long left. He is one of the most dehydrated we’ve ever had.
Kitten Palooza!
The babies are getting bigger! So much so that we upgraded them from the baby box. Trevor and Tegan are training for the next local wrestling competition in earnest.
Magical Trevor
Bottle babies unite! Sometime during the process, your bottle baby decides he’s grown and pays taxes so he should move off the bottle. Today’s the day for Trevor apparently!
When you receive your veterinary invoices
The demands escalate quickly when you're always on the go and in a perpetual state of managing crises. We're continuously accepting medical cases, even when our funds are limited.
This is when we depend on our supporters the most.
