Our kitties at the Mew Haven Cat Cafe are bringing the laughs today with their playful antics—but behind every funny video is a story of resilience. Every cat here has a past, and it’s taken time, care, and resources to get them healthy and ready for adoption.
While these moments of joy are priceless, the cost of veterinary care, treatments, and rehabilitation is not. We continue to face challenges in covering the expenses for the many cats who needed help before finding their forever homes.
If you love these funny feline moments and want to help us continue giving cats like these a chance, please consider donating. Every little bit truly makes a difference. ❤️

Please keep the prayers and well wishes coming for Julius. Today’s vet visit consisted of bloodwork (we should have some results tomorrow), fluids, and a thorough exam.
Julius is an emaciated 5 1/2 lbs of skin and bones. One eye is completely gone. The other eye is damaged. He has severe infections in his mouth. He is a walking skeleton.
We need your help desperately.

Julius
Julius made it through the night, and while we’re incredibly relieved, we were bracing for the worst and are grateful that wasn’t the case. This sweet cat has already touched so many hearts. The law enforcement officer who found him called us in tears—an indication of just how dire his condition is.
Julius is little more than a skeleton, with a sunken face, and his recovery is far from certain. Though he ate this morning, there’s still a chance he could crash. He’s seeing the veterinarian today, and we’re hoping to get a clearer understanding of what we’re up against.
We’re overwhelmed with animals needing medical care—many of them with costly and urgent needs. Christmas may be just a week away, but the bills don’t stop, and the cases keep coming in. We know it’s a big ask, but we truly need your help. And remember, your donation is tax-deductible!

Dallas
OUR FOUNDER VISITED DALLAS IN ICU - WE NEED YOUR HELP‼️😭
Dallas remains in the ICU and, while stable for now, he is far from out of the woods. We still don’t have a clear diagnosis, but he’s being treated with antibiotics and other supportive measures as we work to understand what’s going on.
For those who don’t know Dallas, he is a young, loving cat—only 4-5 years old—who was rescued from a hoarding case years ago. He is truly the BEST cat, and his absence is already felt by the other cats here. Dallas has so much more life to live, and he absolutely deserves every chance at life-saving treatment.
As of yesterday, we’ve only raised $800 of the $4,500 needed for his care, and his bill continues to grow. We are begging for help—please donate and share if you’re able.We are so grateful for your support and to everyone who has donated so far. Dallas deserves this chance.

$5 FRIDAY - END OF YEAR FUNDRAISING
December is flying by, and the rescue has so many needs—but it’s been tough to find time to post. With everyone busy with holiday plans and volunteers traveling, fundraising sometimes takes a back seat. Unfortunately, we’re starting to feel the impact of that on our funds. Plus, when big news like the Diddy files (yes, seriously) dominates, algorithms throw our posts out of sight.
Here’s Oscar, one of our Lifers, enjoying the wheel! The Lifer House is home to medical cases, seniors, and hospice animals. Your donations make it possible to give them the best retirement and golden years they deserve.

Happy babies here on the farm!
Did you know we have sanctuary livestock here at HHR? We have horses (2), cows (2), goats (4), pigs (2), ducks (6), turkeys (2), chickens (12), and Liam the lamb! Every single one of these sweet creatures is a rescue.
For hay alone, our coats are more than $1500 per month! This does not include shavings, grain, or any supplements.
Every dollar donated to HHR is 100% tax deductible and helps us to continue saving lives. Please consider making a year end donation to our farm animals.
Rescue Trauma
Want to understand what compassion fatigue and trauma look like? It’s this! It’s the constant worry that every box on the side of the road might hold kittens or an abandoned puppy. It’s scanning the roadsides for injured animals or feeling dread when passing known dumping grounds. It’s scrolling through social media, being tagged daily in posts about animals with only hours to live, and knowing you can’t save them all because adoptions are down, and the quality of applicants has shifted.
Trauma takes many forms, and it’s difficult to describe how this work changes you. As fulfilling as it can be, you can’t unsee the horrors inflicted on innocent animals. There’s no way to rewire your brain to forget.
This is why we keep going—why we face the trauma head-on. Because the pain of walking away and doing nothing would be just as unbearable. We do it for them, the ones who have no voice. Please continue to support our mission and understand that we are always trying our best.

DUMPED CAT CAUGHT ON CAMERA
We live in a throwaway society where too many people see animals as disposable. They abandon them without a second thought, ignoring the trauma and fear these innocent creatures endure. Dumping a pet isn’t just cruel—it’s dangerous. They’re left vulnerable, confused, and at risk of injury, starvation, or worse.
Recently, someone heartlessly dumped a cat in a carrier in our community, leaving them to fend for themselves. It’s a reminder that we must do better. Pets aren’t objects; they are living beings who deserve love and commitment—not to be discarded like trash.
To the person who did this: your heartlessness is repulsive, and I hope karma catches up to you and hits twice as hard.
To everyone else: let’s step up and be the voice for these innocent animals who can’t defend themselves. They deserve love, not cruelty.
If you defend these actions, you’ll be blocked and removed from our page. There is ZERO EXCUSE FOR THIS.
