Well, I have earned trust with Winston, now called Buddy. We have been introducing scissors and quiet clippers over the last 4 days. A few snips here and there, a bit more, then tonight we got to work. He is pretty rough, because I have to do a lot of it one handed while the other holds him and comforts him. We take breaks and he puts his paws on me like a hug and we cuddle, then he lets me continue. At times able to use both hands. Feet are super touchy and we did get tail shaved, it was completely matted to the skin 😡😢. So many matts! Tomorrow I am hoping he will allow me to clean up the feet and do a more finish trim with clippers as well as finish face. BUT he did not try and bite and no screaming! So it was a good! And I think he realizes he feels better having those matts coming off! They must hurt!

I rarely post anything of myself but I want to share a picture of US. This is my Husband, Brian and myself ❤️. We live on 6 acres in the woods of Newport WA near Diamond Lake. He is retired and I am the total animal lover. He adores dogs and the puppies. We try and live a private life outside of my animal business. We have 6 adult kids between us and are expecting our 9th grandchild any day! So we have a lot of family and try and balance that life with raising babies, which is a dedication that is impossible to explain! The worry, the crossing Ts and dotting I’s. I take breeding these adorables so serious and put more time, energy and $ into it than I can communicate. Currently I am saddened by the other doodle breeders that have overbred and now are changing to Cockapoos. I have invested 10 years of my life into Cockapoos and have worked hard to establish my reputation. It also saddens me people are getting lured into spending hundreds of dollars more elsewhere by breeders with bad ethics.

I would like to take a moment to explain reservation fees. This is a blunt post.

Please do not get on our waitlist if you are talking to other breeders and getting on their list. Also do not get on the list if you are not prepared to follow through.

If you commit to our waitlist, then we look at the number of people on the list and do an educated guess on how many puppies we are expecting and then we stop adding to the waitlist. We also look at the waitlist and plan our next breedings.

I have had several people when contacted for selections, all the sudden have had some event that they cannot follow through. For me, my brain thinks this: Why would you not reach out on your own if something came up? Why do you wait for me to contact you when its time to select? In some cases, this happens with people I have had ongoing conversations and communication. These litters is a first for me. that so many people have not followed through and cannot help but wonder, if they found a buy it now puppy elsewhere. Most do not admit that they bought a puppy elsewhere, they make up stories to try and get the $ back from the reservation wait list fee. But Social Media always has a way of showing the truth at some point.

The request for a return of the reservation fee that is non refundable happens. When you pay to be on the waitlist, you are securing your puppy and taking a spot someone else could have had. We have invested our time taking with you, answering your questions, and creating a relationship with you through the process. When a story changes and two and two is equalling 3, usually a puppy was bought elsewhere. Not every time but most of the time thats what happens. Its unfortunate that my brain has to think that way but its happened in the past.

We had one person when I tried to call, said I had a wrong number, but I did my homework and it was the right number. They had reserved a puppy and I was trying to make arrangements for delivery. In the end, I called them on it and they had indeed bought a puppy elsewhere after reserving one of mine🤬🤬. This happened this year.

Please understand that trust has to be on both sides, its not all on the breeders shoulders. The buyer has to be trustworthy as well and not deceptive. So, with all that said, PLEASE! Do not send a reservation fee unless you are committed to the process and following through and if you do back out, it is NOT REFUNDABLE.
Unfortunately, we have to draw a hard line on this topic because of the people that have been dishonest and try and manipulate us into refunding the reservation fee. Its also frustrating that this policy is stated on our social media and website but the request happens. Please do not put me in that position to say no. Then I am made out to be the bad guy when I say no, is truly unfair.

I have tried so many ways to explain this to people and the amount of anger I get back is uncalled for. Moving forward, We will be working on a reservation fee agreement/receipt for people to sign and send back.

Sorry to vent but this has become ridiculous and stressful.

Hey Everyone! My daughter works with Veterinary students at WSU in Pullman (Go Cougs!) she graduated from WSU with a BS in Neuro Science and went on to get her Masters at Iowa State in Bio Medical Science. She creates models for simulations for students to learn surgical skills. Its really amazing what her department does! Anyway, they have started a FB page and are trying to grow their Audience!
