On Sunday we celebrated and honored the turkeys of Wildwood, along with their dearest animal companions, with a beautiful ThanksLiving feast! 🦃
Our amazing work party volunteers helped to prep, plate, and serve an abundance of favored treats to our residents. For some residents this was their first ThanksLiving, and for others they wait all year long for this glorious day!
Thank you to all who contributed to this feast and who celebrated alongside our residents. Turkeys are a species to admire and cherish, and we’re so glad they were surrounded with such love and warmth this ThanksLiving. 🍂
Let’s keep the celebration going by keeping our turkey friends off our plates, and in our hearts. Choose compassion, make mindful choices, and act with empathy this season. 🧡

Did you know that dogs can thrive on vegan diets?! Atlas not only suffered from chronic ear infections, he’s also allergic to chicken and fish (he did the whole allergy blood panel). He was living, but not thriving on a diet centered around animal protein. Just like we see in humans who consume too many animal products, he was lethargic and had pervasive gastrointestinal issues. 🐾🤒🤕
Fast forward to now - he perplexes his veterinary care staff with his puppy-like energy and demeanor, his strength and agility, and his gorgeous, shiny coat. When I took him for his annual exam this year, the vet literally said to me - “Are you sure he’s 12? I would have guessed 3 or 4 otherwise.” No more ear infections, no GI issues, and enough energy to fuel the neighborhood. 🙌🏻🎊🎉🐾
There are a few vegan dog food options out there. After extensive research and recommendations, we decided on v-dog. Aren’t dogs carnivores?
Nope, they’re omnivores and don’t need meat to thrive.
But isn’t it animal abuse?
You’ve seen the video. Atlas is happy, healthy, and thriving. It would have been wrong to keep him on a diet that was causing preventable health issues.
What about nutrition - vitamins and protein and amino acids?
Like any diet - animal based or not - it’s important to ensure adequate intake of protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, etc. and v-dog’s formula includes all of that in plant based form.

October is National Pit Bull Awareness Month and you know we looove #pibbles! 🥰 These all too often misunderstood dogs are just that…DOGS 🐶 and like all other dogs, they deserve to be loved, cared for, and safe. ❤️
There are many ways to celebrate pit bull type dogs this month and every other month such as:
1) Fostering or adopting a pibble!
2) Volunteering at your local shelter or pit bull rescue.
3) Advocating and educating! 🙌
4) Spreading truth about these dogs (without putting other doggos down).
5) Giving a pibble some love. 🥰
