It is time for Stray #5 of the 12 Strays of Christmas! Stray #5 is me, Archie! I am so new to this indoor life, let alone typing! While it was hard at first, both the indoor life and the typing, I have really embraced both! I never knew how amazing a cuddle was! When I was on the streets, I rarely made biscuits. Now? I’m churning them up daily as I snuggle up next to my foster! Speaking of my foster, she is FASCINATING! Sometimes, she walks in circles around the house touching this and that, moving things. They call it cleaning. I just follow and stare cuz it’s so weird! My favorite thing about my foster is our cuddle sessions! My second favorite is this thing she says she needs to do daily called work. It’s not as good as cuddle sessions but while she does this work stuff, I lay by her feet, waiting for the next exciting thing we do together! People are the best – all of them – new ones, ones I know! Sometimes they give me already dead things to bat around – the people call it playing with toys. It is time for Stray #4 of the 12 Strays of Christmas! Stray #4 is me, Selene! As the goddess and personification of the moon, I represent her properly – a force to be reckoned with! FFF rescued me with my mom and siblings from a facility in Southern Illinois, where we spent over 2 months in a cramped crate. We were at risk of being euthanized because of a lack of space and zero rescue interest for months. Luckily, I am here now. This is my story, and I hope you will want to meet me! When I was first introduced to indoor life, I had to take time to learn about the world around me. F Earth dwellers might call me shy, but I’m observant! What did I observe? SO MUCH! First, getting picked up is the best thing ever. You get head scritches. You can climb on people's shoulders and see everything below you. It’s magical. It gives you easy access to tall cat trees, window ledges – all of it! Second, there are so many nooks and crannies. Everywhere. Sometimes, these people close doors, which prohibits my exploring. Luckily, I was born the bravest girl, and my curiosity always wins and drives me to explore! I love exploring heights and making new friends – all of it! Third, love and cuddles are amazing. If I head butt my foster, she will scratch my head! If I reach my nose up to her, she will kiss me on the nose!! Getting all of the love is the best thing ever! Our next stray is Biscuit. Biscuit came to FFF a year and a half ago from CACC, where she made the urgent list due to being positive for ringworm. This Poor gal had a rough start in life, after ringworm, she bravely fought for her life against panleukopenia and she survived! She was so brave and such a fighter through so many treatments! Because of that, Biscuit is still measuring people out, but she is very sweet, and her foster mom can pick her up to trim her nails or dress her up, but she kind of freezes up until all of that ends, and she is back with her feet on the ground and safe in the company of her kitty friends. Yes, what Biscuit does love is other cats and wand toys! So, if your cat is missing some serious cuddler and playful friends, tell them to apply to adopt Biscuit; she is ready to move in with her set of wand toys! Some lucky households will someday be fortunate to have this fantastic cat companion! She will cuddle up to any cat! While Biscuit is uncomfortable being held or cuddled, she will go into her foster’s room at night and sneak into her bed…running out when she moves. She wants love but is still learning to give it to or accept it from people! She is pretty low maintenance and quiet unless you are late with her food! Then she will let you know and chat up a storm to lecture you! This gorgeous lady would be such a special addition to a home. She has a little white upside-down heart around her nose. Hello, my loves. It is time for Stray #2 of the 12 Strays of Christmas! Stray #2 is me! I am Chrysanthemum. Some common folk call me Chrissy but that does not always fit my regal, glamorous self, as you can see. First topic, the weather. Where I am from, Florida, it was much warmer than this bitter, cold Chicago weather. You see, I was found outside in south Florida where kind people took me in. Florida was not meant to be my forever as they had a tough time finding me a forever castle. When my people moved back to Illinois, they brought me and FFF agreed to help out and keep looking for that special castle for me. I am very unique – from my luxurious coat with the lovely unique pattern chosen just for me to the personal space I require before the food providers are allowed to snuggle with me. My current fosters have broken through my regal barrier and have seen the side of me that cannot resist a wand toy or squeeze treat. I will do anything for either of these! Squeeze treats are life. This is Mischief. This adorably grumpy-looking 7-year-old girl is currently at the Petco in Schaumburg (60 E. Golf Road) practicing her Blue Steel expression and anxiously awaiting her forever home! Don't let her RBF fool you, she is sugar and spice and everything nice! She adores being petted and chatting with the store volunteers who come to visit her. Despite her rough past, Mischief LOVES people and getting all the attention from her foster family, so much so that she would do best in a home where she can truly be the center of attention as an only cat. She would also prefer a more calm environment, and could likely be OK with older children. She would make a GREAT companion for someone who works from home! With that precious face, she'd be a welcome addition to any Zoom calls (at least she thinks so, anyway). Heard enough?!
