Ebony Hayes just could not say no to this sweet Yorkie mix. He was brought in as a stray and had no tag or chip and no one called for this little guy. He was on a very busy road and we are so glad someone took the time to save him from a tragic accident. He will be safe inside at his new home and Ebony is not gone very long during the day. Janelle Crowdus and her daughter and friend Jeremy Humphrey came to MARL to check out our cats. They were drawn to Amber and Azul. These pretty girls were brought in by their previous owner. They are 10 months old and had not been spayed yet. They will make a stop in the hospital at our shelter and will be spayed before going home. They will be inside cats and we are so happy these bonded sisters get to stay together. Thank you so much Janelle for adopting both. Terryl and William Yelverton came to visit the small dogs from a recent neglect case. They could not decide on which one and so they decided to adopted two. We love double adoptions! These pups are schnauzer mix, maybe with some yorkie. They have had a hard life but a whole new world is about to open up for these babies. They will have a nice quiet home and will be completely spoiled in no time. Thank you so much Terryl and William for adopting both pups. Prissy is just to cute for words! We are not sure about her family tree but there appears to be some poodle down the line. She was brought in as a stray. She had no Tag, no chip and no one called looking for this sweet girl. Ronald and Gracie Croutwell were so excited to Prissy. Their home had been quiet for a little while and they were ready to hear the sound of four feet prancing around. Prissy has it made and is going to be a spoiled princess. Rascal was brought to MARL as a stray. Outside in the cold winter weather is no place for a little 4 month old kitten. A kind person found the kitten her yard and could not find an owner. Rascal was adopted in just a few days after he was brought up to our cat adoption area. Stacy Williams fell for this cute yellow cream tabby boy. He is a loving little kitten. Rascal will need to live up to his name in his new home. He will be sharing it with inside dogs Bailey, Riley and Brutus, all fixed, all spoiled and they have lived with a cat previously. Thank you so much Stacy for choosing Rascal. No more cold outside time for this lost kitten. We appreciate you visiting MARL and adopting this sweet boy.

The Wilkinson family came to visit our new arrivals from the Jackson Animal Control case. They fell in love with sweet Brendon, a chocolate Yorkie mix. He is so cute with his deep chocolate coat. Brendon has a great new family that includes their sweet 12 year old dog, Boo Radley. We bet there is not another dog anywhere with this cute name. Brendon may want his name change to something this cool. Thank you so much Wilkinson family for adopting Brendon. He is going to love a quiet, calm home where he will get the attention he deserves. It may take him a little longer to settle in because of his previous living conditions but he is going to be a happy little dog once he is settled. This adorable chocolate lab mix puppy was adopted by Gregory and Cheryl Hayes. Gregory and Cheryl love dogs. Sadly, they recently had to make the hard decision all pet parents have to make someday when they said goodby to their beloved dogs, Deuce and Sasha ages 16 and 15 years. Deuce and Sasha were their babies and much loved. After several months, they were ready to bring a new baby home and they fell for this cute little female lab mix. Cheryl is retired so housebreaking will be pretty easy. Just like Deuce and Sasha, this puppy will be an inside dog as well and will have all the attention she deserves. Thank you so much Gregory and Cheryl for choosing this cute girl and thank you for adopting from MARL.

This week we received 17 dogs in neglected condition, picked up by Jackson Animal Control. Our animal care staff bathed all the dogs and gave a quick fix cut on matted hair where they could. All but one of the pups (1 lone Chihuahua) needs professional grooming once settled in their new homes. We knew this little crew of cuteness was going to be adopted really fast once we posted. We had to stop taking applications after 50 plus.

A.J., about 4 years old, was adopted by Dawn and Michael Flannes. A.J. is a yorkie mix and so very sweet. She is going to love her new home and family. She will not be lonesome for a play buddy. At home is a 9 year old poodle mix, she will enjoy a home that is not as crowded as her last one. Dawn is retired so A.J. will get a lot of well deserved attention. Thank you so much Dawn and Michael for adopting this sweet girl and changing her life where she will be loved and cared for.

Hey, hey! I just wanted to pop in and give you a quick heads-up! While all the other pups are getting their kennel cards made to go on that big, fancy post, I’m over here thinking, “What’s the hold-up?” Honestly, I shouldn’t even be here that long.

Everyone loves a Great Dane, and I’m not just saying that because I think I’m pretty darn adorable. I’m a 3-year-old merle Great Dane mix, and I’m the total package. Housebroken, I walk great on a leash, I’m good in the car, and I love to play and get cuddles. When you call me, I listen—like, really listen—and I respond like a champ.

So… how about you come see me before they even get around to making my kennel card? Don’t miss your chance, I’m ready to be your new best friend!
