I consider myself more as rescue support and less in rescue. It's a hard calling, and I help where I can. I ended up with this little chihuahua, King. More information at the link! I'm also looking for a home, so if you know of anyone who would be interested, let me know. He's a very loving, friendly little guy when he gets to know you.

Name game with multiple dogs:
🐾 Say their name, yes for eye contact, then reinforce. This helps the dog learn to be patient and wait their turn. This may need some adjustments depending on the dogs.
🐾 Add in touch (don’t say touch just yet). Say their name, then offer the hand, then say “yes” and reinforce.

This is a simple way to build out the foundations to get to the more complex cues. Ford was very polite in telling me he was done by turning his head away and then asking for pets. 🐾

Sometimes I get cats veryyyy interested in what’s going on with the dog, so we added in some training for them. This helps Birdie settle around the cats and provides the cats more appropriate behaviors than antagonizing the dog. 🐾

That little shift has helped an immense amount in my work and how I approach dogs (and honestly, people).
