Congratulations to Phoebe on passing her Canine Good Citizen exam in the April round! This little dog continues to amaze me — from nervous young dog to confident learner, it’s been a pleasure watching her grow. 🐾

The next round of classes will be announced in December and start in mid-January!
I’ll have early registration rates available as well then, starting at $220.
Benefits:
🐾 Small classes. Most classes have four dogs, with no more than six dogs per class.
🐾 Customizable classes (within reason). If a dog needs to advance to a degree that may not apply to the entire class, we can adjust the curriculum.
🐾 Fun associated with going to the vet. Most of the dogs who take classes at one of the veterinary locations are excited to go to the vet, since the classes are fun, which helps make vet visits less stressful.

Congratulations to Toast on passing Level 1 in the April round! There’s so many things I love seeing in class, but at the top is just how much all of my human clients love their dogs. Toast is so loved and his humans work so hard to understand him and meet his needs— not always so easy for a dog with a lot of energy and intelligence. I’m so proud of how much they learned and put into practice. 🐾

Congratulations to Theo on passing Level 1 in the April round! Theo started out with a consultation, and he was struggling with some overstimulation. He joined class and responded really well to clear training while learning more appropriate responses. 🐾

This is from a couple of years ago, but worth a spot on the feed. Helo, Welly, and Harry showed off their Rock City Dog skills at (which is dog friendly!). So proud of these three, who went on to become therapy dogs with Pet Partners. 🐾

Training is more than just getting a dog to stop or listen, although those can be helpful parts. Sometimes training just helps a dog relax. Riker is an incredible smart young mini poodle who is constantly wound up. Training is helping with his potty training, his excitement reactivity, but also helping him turn off his brain. 🐾

She only gets called Pennywise if she’s in trouble but it cracks me up every time I hear it! Penny has been coming to class with her bestie Franklin for several years, and it is harder to find a more intense little dog. She is devoted to learning and also a bit of mayhem, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Congratulations, Penny, on graduating Tricks 1!

She’s showing off her “middle” cue, which is a fantastic behavior for posing.

I am assured that Franklin is a different dog at home, but in class, he is all business! He and his bestie Pennywise have been taking classes together for several years, and it’s always so cool to watch them learn. I almost didn’t include “take a bow” in the curriculum, but he was offering it one day so we started to capture it. Of course, he got camera-shy, so “paws up” it is! Congratulations, Franklin, on passing Tricks 1!

Paws up asks the dog to put their paws up on something. This can be a human, a sturdy park bench, or a tree, for example. It can be used to redirect the dog or just part of a run Barkour protocol. I use it for my own rat terrier when people pass by us so she doesn’t launch herself at them to say hello.

I’m so proud of Mazzy! It’s been such a delight to watch her grow up over the last year from teeny tiny nervous puppy in Puppy Kindergarten to accomplished and slightly bored graduate of Tricks 1! She’s got quite the personality and I am here for it.

She is showing off her “middle” cue here, which asks the dog to come around and through and sit between their person’s feet. I love this for posing!

I consider myself more as rescue support and less in rescue. It's a hard calling, and I help where I can. I ended up with this little chihuahua, King. More information at the link! I'm also looking for a home, so if you know of anyone who would be interested, let me know. He's a very loving, friendly little guy when he gets to know you.
