He is at Cvets right now here in Columbia, Sc. He is congested and his red blood cell count is low. They could use some donations. They will also need to still have his eyes removed. All this adds up.

Ray needs a savior! He is only 3 weeks old. He was surrendered to be euthanized but the vet did not want to do it. His eyes need to be removed which the vet is doing but he needs rescue when it is done.
I would like to rescue him but I need a foster to adopt person that has experience with blind dogs to add him to the family.
If another rescue can take him that has dealt with blind dogs, that would be great too. Poor little puppy has had a rough start.
Who can help this little one and lets hope everything goes OK with his surgery.

This sweet girl was found at Vue Apartments Fox Run Lane off St. Andrews Rd, Columbia, Sc

She is about 5-6 months old. Had a collar with a name on it. She is not microchipped.

This is a wild story! A lady found a stray dog and brought him to our place. I scanned him for a microchip and he had one. I called the number and the owner lives in New Jersey. The dog has been missing for 2 years.
The story: he is a truck driver and the dog got away from him and ran into the woods. He was making a delivery here in SC. His wife called all the rescues and did flyers. But he never made his way home. He is in good shape so someone has been caring for him.

He finally got to go home. I met up with his owner, he happened to be here in Sc making a delivery again, what are the odds. He was excited and his wife is excited to see him as well.

Couple things to take away from this story

1. Microchip your pets and always have the current information!

2. If you find a dog or cat, always get it scanned for a microchip. No matter the condition of the pet. We never know the story. They could have been lost, stolen, dumped not by the owner, etc.
Always, always check for a microchip.

That dog has been away from his family for 2 yrs. Had he gotten scanned for a microchip he would have went home a lot sooner. Luckily, this story has a good ending.

I want to give a big Thank you to the White Knoll Middle School for taking the time and picking our rescue to get donations for our dog and cats! They raised $195.

Because of the financial support of compassionate people like you, we were able to expand our Shelter services!

Our Shelter Open House event highlighted the homeless pets in our care and our new shelter!

Senior alert!
Penny came to us after the owner had to move and his mom was going into a nursing home. He had her since a puppy and she is 10 yrs old. So her world is very confusing right now.

She has anxiety here and is not doing well.
She has to be the only pet! She likes to be with her people.

Can someone foster or adopt her so she is not stuck here in a noisy place

Update: Foster covered, thank you!

Who can help watch 4- kittens from May18-24, then they will go back to the foster.
They are bottle feeding during the day every 3-4 hrs and at night they are going 6-7 hrs but also eating wet food.

Update: Owners found. I held him longer then the 5 day stray hold and printed flyers for the finder to hang. They were so excited to see him. He is now microchipped!

Please microchip your pets and keep the information updated. He would have been adopted out and not found his family. This story luckily ended on a happy note.

We have these cuties up for adoption! They are about 10 weeks old. They will need 2 more distemper/parvo vaccines, and rabies. They will need spayed/neutered at 6 months old, all covered in the adoption fee.
They are going to be bigger size so a fenced in yard is required.

Here we are again with poor Athena! Her owners that adopted her got deployed to Italy. A family member said they would take her. They have had her a month and now looking to bring her back. Originally they said she went after the cats but the story changed and now it is that their cats are not taking to her. They rehomed her without my knowledge and it sounds like those cats are not taking to her either, so no one wants her even though at her original home she was fine with the cats. Poor Athena is getting bounced around.
I do not have a kennel for her, is there someone that can foster her or even better, adopt her. She needs a stable home. She needs to decompress from this mess, and a kennel is not going to help. She is around 60lbs. She will need a fenced yard. I would say no cats for now.

All the pets hope everyone has a fantastic holiday! Sadly they did not get any Christmas cards, but they enjoyed their meals and toys. They had full bellies and toys to play with.

Phoenix

Update on Phoenix. I picked her up on Tuesday, Nov. 1st. She is doing well. She is up walking around and eating small meals. She has a long way to go, but we will get her filled out and healthy. Sarabi deserves a home

Sarabi is ready for a home. She has been at Apl for about 3 yrs. She is around 8 yrs old, good around other cats. She did not show her true personality at Apl. She stayed in one spot and did not move. I brought her home to foster and she loves to be petted and shows so much affection. All she wants to do is be around people. She has a lot of love to give. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently had a dental. Our adoption fee is $125. If you are interested in adding her to your family please visit www.aplsc.org to fill out an application. I would love to finally see her in a home. Then I can foster another cat like her that is not doing the best in the Apl environment.
