My name is Koda! :)
I was brought in as an owner surrender. I played with the young kids a little too roughly, I get very excited and am a very high energy boy. I am the best fetcher in town, I absolutely love tennis balls! I am a pit mix who is almost 2 years old, and I have allergies, so I need grain free food. I am around 63lbs, but I am very strong. I pull when I am on a leash, but I am very smart and am learning some manners. I am house broken, but I did spend some time in a fenced in back yard. I prefer to sleep in the house at night. I am selective when it comes to other dogs, and I like to chase cats. I am vaccinated and neutered and ready to go to my forever home today. I have been here at the shelter for almost 2 months!

How I came to love dogs!

I have never been much of a dog person and anyone that knows me can attest to that! Dan worked out of town a lot and it didn’t make sense to have a dog that he wasn't there to take care of. After many years of working out of town he was finally able to come home and work at home! Feeling guilty for not letting him have a dog all of those years was getting to me. At first I thought we could get a french bull dog but they were pretty spendy! Our friend sent a photo of Tali and we both fell in love with her pot belly, spot on her butt and of course her under bite . We went to look at her and I KNEW we were coming home with her! I fell head over heals for her IMMEDIATELY! I just adored her personality, she is so smart and well behaved! It was a few short months later I started looking for a little boy to be her play mate and mate in life. We traveled to Pueblo, CO to get Bulleit! We took Tali with us and made a mini vacation out of it. Everywhere we went people loved our little Tali girl and it was then that we realized we wanted to let her have a few puppies so we can share this wonderful breed with others. Around Halloween we kept seeing posts from 7 Acre Kennels 2 new litters of puppies, all so adorable I wanted them all!!! But at Christmas we decided that we needed another puppy. Ziva was delivered Christmas Eve...best present a family could ask for! Pretty sure I had lost my mind! My family says that this is the biggest transformation they have ever seen a person go through. They are not wrong! Once our children grew up and left the house I felt so lost, who was I, what is my purpose if not to be a full time mom? No more running around to games and practice, what in the world do I do now. These 3 have filled a void for me and words can not express how deeply I love our pets. Every day multiple times a day they greet me like it is the first time they have seen me. SO happy so full of joy and unconditional love!
