PAWS Shelter of Central Texas Founded in 1986, we are a No Kill shelter in Central Texas. PAWS is relentless in our effort to save lives and change lives.

We now have two locations to better serve our community.

- Kyle Campus - 500 FM 150E, Kyle, TX, 78640

- Dripping Springs Campus - 2965 FM 165, Dripping Springs, TX, 78620 Our efforts in that regard include:

•Holding offsite adoptions to get the animals out into the community.
•Fully vaccinating and microchipping our animals so that they can begin their long, happy lives with their new owners,

“fully equipped!”.
•Visiting local community groups and schools to educate our community on responsible pet ownership.
•Making sure that every animal in our care gets the medical attention it needs.
•Pioneering the Pets in Prison Program (also known as the Cell Dog Program) to help those dogs who have behavior issues that might hinder them in finding a loving family.
•Implementing a Behavior Testing Program which temperament tests all those in our care before they are adopted into the community, allowing for better placement of pets into a new home environment that is best for all.
•Spaying or neutering all our animals to further our commitment to be part of the solution in our communities’ pet overpopulation problem.

How did PAWS spend Valentine’s Day? By saving lives! 🙌

When most people were deciding on their date outfits or picking up last minute gifts, our staff was hard at work collaborating with the dedicated staff at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter. Their desire to save lives and find the pets in their care the perfect placement was obvious to everyone involved. They spent hours with our team, introducing us to pets they adored.

Because of this teamwork, PAWS was able to take in nine large-sized dogs. So, say hello to our new PAWS kiddos! 💝

We love a good happily-ever-after, and Rowdy is living his best life with his new family! 🏡

From early morning cuddles to evening walks, Rowdy has settled in beautifully. His favorite spot? Under the kitchen table, right in the middle of homeschool lessons, soaking up all the love and belly rubs.

He’s made best friends with the neighbor’s golden retrievers and enjoys playdates and walking dates with them. His humans are working on training, and he’s already improving with leash manners. He’s even figured out how to follow his 3-year-old sibling out the front door, but he’s such a good boy that he comes right back when called! Rowdy’s family says he’s a smart, loving pup who fits perfectly into their lives. They couldn’t imagine their home without him! 💕

Our team had a busy last few days saving lives! 🙌

Thanks to the amazing fosters who stepped up, our team was able to take in 26 puppies and kittens from Bastrop Cats Anonymous TNR Society - Bastrop CATS and CCACtx!

We love being able to support groups in Central Texas. This is what teamwork looks like! 👏

Meet Cinnabon, the ultimate adventure buddy with the cutest expressions and a heart full of love! This high-energy girl is ALL about playtime and zoomies, but let's not forget about the snuggles! She’ll happily be your lap dog if you let her. 🥰

She’s amazing with people and children but needs a strong handler for walks (because, well... she gets very excited about the world!). She’s a total dog lover but sometimes plays a little rough, so she’d thrive with the right energy match. Cats? Nope. Frogs? Also questionable. But dogs? Absolutely! 🐶

Cinnabon has been at PAWS since September 2024, and we’re hoping to find her a home before she officially becomes a long-stay! Let’s help this sweet girl find her perfect forever family. 🏡

Typically, small dogs get adopted very quickly. And despite her small size of 22 pounds, Pumpkin has been with us for 190 days now. 🐶

Pumpkin may be small in size but this girl has a BIG personality! This petite girl is a staff and volunteer favorite who is known for her goofy smile and impressive jump when she gets excited. Let’s just say she channels her inner Tigger (IYKYK).

Here’s what else you need to know about this almost two year old: 👇

✨Walks beautifully on a leash
✨Wants to the be only child (no other pets allowed)
✨Loves to snuggle in your lap
✨Treat motivated
✨Prefers older kids or adults only

Pumpkin’s ideal home would be one that offers a quieter environment without the hustle and bustle. Pumpkin thrives best in a calm setting where she can feel secure and loved. Despite her adorable appearance and smaller size, she doesn’t enjoy being picked up and can exhibit signs of separation anxiety when left alone. All she needs is someone who understands her unique needs and is willing to provide a patient and loving home. With a little understanding and the right setting, this sweet girl is ready to thrive! ⭐️ VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT ⭐️

Todd is a dedicated volunteer who helps out so much at our Dripping Springs location. His dedication and love for the animals is apparent every time he comes to the shelter. He started volunteering with us in February of 2024 and our staff cannot say enough good things about him.

He not only shows up rain or shine (or even the occasional sleet or snow), but he always talks to staff and asks who needs to be walked or just given some attention. Staff says thatTodd feels like family!

When asked why he volunteers Todd states, “I began volunteering at PAWS as a method to follow the mandate given by my Third Grade Teacher (Mrs. Vallens): Use Time Wisely. Volunteering at PAWS gives our furry friends a better present (a walk, or tug-o-war, etc), and opens up the possibility, and probability, of a better future! There is a depth of happiness received each time one of our furry friends finds their forever home that is unique to this work.”

If your New Year’s Resolution was to be more active, we have a suggestion for you. His name is Steve. 🐶

And although he is undoubtedly handsome, Steve has not received tons of attention since coming into our care 184 days ago. This big boy may have lots of energy, but he loves everyone he meets. Here is what you need to know about this Hound mix. 👇

✨Loves cuddling (100% purebred lapdog)
✨Good interactions with cats (may want to play with them)

✨Has doggy friends
✨Can be a bit jumpy (but he’s just an excitable dude)
