KITTEN!!!! This lucky 6-month old was found in a parking lot near the airport. After a trip to the Oregon Humane Society to scan for a microchip, which he didn’t have, he is now at an in-home foster so he can be adopted to his perfect family. Note: His foster Mom was picking up a harness, collar and food and even though she has never had a cat before, she was already starting to fall for this sweetie🐱💙.

Our team had the opportunity for a behind the scenes tour of the Community Veterinary Hospital at Oregon Humane Society this morning. What a treat to see this state-of-the-art facility here for our community! It’s clear this hospital was founded on and thrives on supporting all dogs, cats and small animals in need of veterinary services, including and not limited to: Spay & neuter, dentistry, annual exams, acute issues and general surgery. With fiscal donations from the community to help subsidize the costs to the pet owner, this hospital is for everyone. A very special thank you to Eleanor Mayne and Rhandi Edwards for this tour!

Yesterday we said goodbye to Corrie and Tavi, two of some of our favorites as they are moving to California🌴. It’s been a pleasure getting to know them over the years, and we’re going to miss their frequent visits. Tavi got extra treats and love from us over the past few days and we hope his new pet supply store spoils him rotten! We’re wishing them lots of luck in their new adventures!!

Harriet is about 3 years old. She is a bit shy but warms up quickly and has proven to be the sweetest and most loving little baby. She is great on walks, is house broken and all around just wants to please her humans.

Did you know most cats are dehydrated? It takes a cat 2,200-2,400 licks to get 1/4 cup of water. This is because they are not designed to drink, they are supposed to get all their water directly from their food! Once you see your cat at the water bowl, know they are likely dehydrated and over time this can lead to a myriad of health conditions such as dry itchy skin, urinary tract crystals and infections and eventually kidney disease.
It’s an easy fix and just requires us as pet owners to feed them as they are intended and cut the dry food down! Canned foods are good, rehydrated freeze dried raw food is better (but expensive) and raw is the least processed and comparably-priced to canned! Stop in or give us a call, we’d love to answer any questions and love to help transition cats to a moisture-rich diet! Your cats will thank you! Meow🐈⬛
