Huge congratulations to Joe and Ella Marie McDade Hull and Shelby, GCH Windy Hill-Dragonshield's Come Go With Me who just earned her Golden level in National Owner-Handler Series!!! Shelby is co-bred by Joe, Rie and Dustin Wyatt, she is a daughter of CH Dragon Shield-Windy Hill's Night Moves (Herbie) and CH Holiday Hill's Corrina Corrina (daughter of all time top winning Owner-Handled Welsh Terrier GCHB Dragon Shield's Gold Standard at Windy Hill - Jack).

Thank you Rie and Joe for providing excellent homes to Welshes, incredible careers of Jack, Herbie, Shelby and Dylan, but most of all for being our extended family, we love you are we are so grateful to have you!

Dragon Shield’s Ella Marie, Stella, born just 8 months ago is showing great promise and is the result of another successful breeding of Dragon Shield’s Poison Ivy. This girl has been very special to me since birth and was named to celebrate our friendship with Joe and Rie Hull, who has supported me in the breed since the beginning. Rie, I hope she makes you very proud!

All of you sneering at reputable breeders take note: if you walk through your local shelter, you will not find a single well bred, reputably bred dog in their kennels.
You will find pit bulls and poorly bred Labradors and chihuahuas and toy breeds with googly eyes and crooked legs, but you won't find one from a reputable breeder, who's parents have been health tested, temperament and conformation and breed studied, preventative measures taken against known possible lifelong injury and disorders.
Why won't you find one of our dogs there? Because our puppies are micro-chipped, they are registered and sold with a contract that states if the owner must re-home then the dog comes back to the place it was born.
When the well bred dogs go extinct, you will wonder why.

Miniature Schnauzer Friends,
We have a 16 month old female salt and pepper miniature schnauzer available to a pet home. She is small at just 12 3/4 inches at the withers, but has an excellent temperament, good with other dogs and is very playful. If interested private message me directly for more details/discussion.

If you want to buy a dog and walk away, don’t buy one from me.

If you want to pick a puppy because it came to you when you sat down or gave you a cute look, don’t buy one from me.

If you don’t want to take my recommendations on what food to feed or what is best for the health and well-being of the dog, after years of experience, don’t buy a dog from me.

If you want a puppy in a hurry, because you need it for a Christmas gift or to be in senior pictures, don’t buy one from me.

If you never plan to update me on how the dog is doing, or send a picture once in a while, don’t buy a dog from me.

If you want a dog to live in the backyard, run loose on a farm, and never share time in the house with your family, definitely don’t buy a dog from me.

If you want a lawn ornament, you can buy one made of cement or plaster, not much care needed.
However, if you want a puppy that has parents with health testing, that was socialized, loved, and made a priority from the day it was born. A puppy who’s temperament and activity level has been carefully chosen to fit your lifestyle. A puppy selectively and purposefully bred to the standard set forth by our breed club, then maybe you do want to buy a dog from me.

If you want a breeder who will at any time in the dogs life take them back, no questions asked. A breeder who is there 24/7 for you and your dog for questions and concerns and will work hard to help you resolve any issues. Then you might want to buy a dog from me.

If you want a breeder who loves each puppy/dog with all their heart, considers you part of the family and will laugh or cry with you at any time. Well then, we might be a match.

Reputable breeders should never be lumped in with puppy mills, backyard breeders, or those who broker dogs. A reputable breeder will be able to provide clearances, a five-generation pedigree, an explanation as to why they bred the two dogs. While most of the time they will make little or no money. What money they might get is reinvested into the dogs one way or another.

A reputable breeder knows their dogs and can realistically tell you what to expect and when to guide you toward veterinarians, training facilities, and products that will benefit your dog.

A reputable breeder will be your friend, a guiding hand, and a strong shoulder.

So whatever choice you make, make it with the best interest of the dog in mind and if that’s not your plan, then don’t buy a dog from me.

That’s a wrap! Dragon Shield-LIt’s Guardian Tilda finished her championship today in Doswell, VA with back to back 4 point majors after receiving a 4 point major in York, PA last weekend. Congratulations to Tilda’s owner Alexander Litvinov and to mother of Tilda, Destineez Royal Rebel owned by Terrie Houck and Catherine Pendleton. Thanks to Terri for the opportunity to lease Sybil and have such an excellent breeding from our male Destineez Guardian of the Galaxy (Styles) and Destineez Royal Rebel (Sybil) to produce such a nice girl.

Dragon Shield’s Cosmo finished his AKC Championship in four days with 3 majors at a young age of 7 months. He is now almost 9 months of age and currently available to a show or pet home. Dragon Shield’s Cosmo finished his AKC Championship in four days with 3 majors at a young age of 7 months. This dog has excellent coat, color and conformation and will only get better with age. He is bred by me and my wife and has an excellent pedigree. He is now almost 9 months of age and currently available to a show or pet home as he was one of three show dogs out of the litter and I have his (2) sisters and mother. Miniature Schnauzers in USA come only and exclusively in Black, Salt and Pepper qnd Black and Silver. They are the only colors recognized by AKC breed standard. Eyes are supposed to be always and only dark brown, almond shaped, deep set with a good separation.

Any deviation from listed characteristics is a proof that the dog is not well-bred, or a pure-bred Miniature Schnauzer.

Since I came back to USA two weeks ago, I've been trying to get my dogs back in shape. Because Willem is a crazy child I only have very short periods of time late in the evenings when he is sleeping.
My work is much more pleasurable thanks to some new, cool tools I got during our trip at Crufts. Below of brushes and combs from Colin Taylor. They are magnificent. I am definitely looking forward to trying our more of his products

A very good piece of information to keep in mind for everyone who is looking to buy a dog.

Dragon Shield is not a kennel facility, we own just a couple of dogs who live with us at home. Our dogs enjoy normal pet life while also excelling at the dog shows. Quality as well as providing our dogs with a regular happy home means they we have litters very rarely.
We are planning a Welsh Terrier litter in 2022, however we will not have any West Highland White Terrier and Miniature Schnauzer litters until probably 2024. We will always gladly provide ethical breeder referrals upon request.
