We have added some more members to our flock this last week, through our first run trying our hand at incubating eggs, and also recieving our first batch of chicks through the mail from Cackle Hatchery. In the future we will be able to expand our egg sales, and also include duck eggs for sale. We will also be doing two more runs of eggs in the incubator in the next 2.5 months. A run of barnyard cross chicks and a run of purebred Jumbo Pekins. We will be looking to rehome the majority of the chicks from those hatches, and we will most certainly keep you posted on that!

FARM UPDATE Spring 2020

Life on the farm continues to roll despite this global pandemic. Its gearing up to be the busy season with irrigation water turning on this coming week. We have been spending more time in the tractors, working ground, dragging fields, and planning out our crops for this year. The calves are growing really nicely, and we will be selling commercial replacement heifers this fall, and have several people who have already expressed interest. The poultry operation keeps growing, and we are happy to be able to provide the community with farm fresh eggs when the stores arent able to provide.

We hope you and yours are doing well and staying safe in this crazy time, and we hope you will look to us for your needs such as hay, USDA lamb, and eggs in this upcoming season!

Feed line checks are awful fun this time of year with all the babies running around.

Cow check at feed time! We are about 3 weeks out from calving due date, which means we will start seeing calves in about 2 weeks. We give the girls a good once over when we feed right now, but as we get closer and see more signs of imminent calving we will start checking 3-4 times per day, and overnight as well.

In the midst of all that harvest entails, we moved the girls out to summer pasture with our in-laws herd today. It was a beautiful day to be out enjoying the fresh air enjoying time with the girls.
