All puppies undergo a vet clearance prior to go home, receive their age-appropriate vaccines, are dewormed and microchipped. Each puppy undergoes BAB temperament testing so that we can guide you to the best puppy for you and your family. The most important thing we do is give each puppy a voice. All puppies born here are born with a purpose!

Does a male or a female make a better pet for you and your family?
It’s not uncommon for people to believe that a female dog will make a better pet. We get a lot of calls for people wanting that “special little girl”. For whatever reason they don’t think that females will exhibit “alpha” behaviors like hu***ng and/or marking. A lot of people think that females are more passive and friendly and that they don’t take part in fighting over dominance, which could NOT be farther from the truth. If you check out the structure of dog packs, the females determine the pecking order and rule the roost. The result of that behavior is that the females become more stubborn, independent, and territorial than the males. These females are much more intent on exercising their control by participating in that “alpha” behavior like hu***ng. Most fighting will usually break out between two females.
Males tend to be more affectionate, exuberant, attentive, and even more demanding of attention. The males are very attached to their owners, tending to be more dedicated, reliable and less temperamental. They are more sociable, more accepting of other pets, playful for years, and take quicker to children. Most boys are easily motivated by treats/food, words of praise and are so eager to please that training actually becomes easier. Their playful nature, however, can make males more easily distracted. The boys are more likely to act silly and more puppy-like, always wanting to play games, no matter what their age. The boys are fun-loving until the day they die, whereas girls tend to be more standoffish and dignified the older they get.
Neutered males rarely exhibit secondary sexual behavior such as marking and lifting their legs or hu***ng. Once the testosterone levels recede after neutering, most of these behaviors will disappear if they ever existed.
So before making your decision on that age old dilemma of male verses female, hopefully this will give you some helpful info to think about.

Gregory has to be the funniest puppy I have ever had. He is always doing the silliest stuff. He loves the water! Would be a great family dog.
Colin is my independent little man…if you need an independent thinker he is the one for you. But wait, he still loves his cuddles!

From the birth of this puppies grandparents we are setting them up for success. With great genetics and our unique curriculum this puppy is in a busy airport just taking in everything like it is an everyday occurrence. Penelope now Maya is headed to her new home this morning.
Anthony now Barrett Cal went to his new home today. He has a big task ahead of him. He must fill a hole in his new mommies heart.
Day 10 post oil spill. Still trudging along but not much has changed.
Every dog breeder has that moment when they decide to pair two dogs that they are not really sure what will produce aka the “science experiment”. Knowing what you are wanting to achieve but still wondering if this is in fact the best pairing to better the breed. What appeared was this strange creature with his mom’s spicy attitude and dad’s brains. My husband insisted on keeping him and he has been a great source of entertainment for him and a huge pain in my butt! We love our Levi Joseph aka the Science Experiment.
As a breeder I am always trying to level up my program. I was blessed to get to spend the weekend with these wonderful women learning how to bring you better puppies. After the week we had here at the ranch this was a much needed pick me up.
After the week we have had, I have been forced to alter our daily walks. This morning on a normally not explored peice of our property we found this beauty. Just a reminder that all this will pass and we will be ok.
Update about the crude oil spill on our property yesterday and how it is affecting our daily life.
East Texas is beautiful but we are an epicenter for oil and gas. Today we are paying the cost and I am devastated!
We have Aussies and they require a bit of exercise. Even the mini and toy varieties need that daily outlet. When the weather is not ideal we will do brain games and one of their favorites is treat puzzles.
Gregory thinks playing in the water bowl is fun! What a mess!

We love our vet staff at Healthy Paws Animal Hospital! Dr. Arrendell and her staff are top notch. To have such quality animal care in a small town is such a blessing.
Heidi Leigh formerly Wednesday and her mom had been separated for a week after her mom had fallen and broken her hip. The hospital was so kind to let Heidi come for a visit. I do believe these two love each other.
Colin is an independent little guy, known for his self-reliant nature and a strong sense of individuality. However, this trait should not be misconstrued as aloofness, for he is far from it. Inheriting his mother's endearing patience, he will calmly await your affectionate gestures. Once you offer your attention, he will gratefully settle in your lap, reveling in every moment of the love and care you share with him.
