My Grooming Story
I have always loved animals, but my first Yorkie was really special. Everyone has that one dog or cat that just connects on such a deep level that the world suddenly looks brightern and better. Mickey was that dog for me.
This was the first dog I had that required grooming beyond a bath and nail trim. I’m an avid DIY-er, so I started to learn to groom Mickey myself. I really enjoyed it and ended up taking the next step and getting formal training at the Maryland School of Dog Grooming in Silver Spring.
That lead to many years of working for others in different grooming businesses: mobile, privately owed and corporate salons. I learned a lot during those years, most of it good stuff, some of it things to avoid and stay away from.
Now I’ve taken another direction and started my own business doing house call grooming. A lot of things factored into the decision to make house calls rather than open a salon or go mobile in a van. The most important factor has always been the pets’ comfort and safety.
