Psychology behind my training.
If you are considering becoming my client, one of the most important things to know is that I teach. I explain my thinking process, choice of exercises, and long-term goals in detail. I am not a trainer of a few words. Maybe, after years of working together, I will say less, but until then, my lessons are detailed. If you love learning in-depth, you’ll have great fun!

I always say, "I don’t train riders; I train horse trainers." I aim to help people and horses understand the process, not just prepare for a competition. My greatest reward is knowing that I’ve helped someone understand horses and that they will, in turn, improve the lives of many horses.

Each rider and horse's journey is unique. Whether your goals are competitive or recreational, it's always full of ups and downs. Choosing the right trainer is vital because they’ll share this journey with both of you, becoming part of your barn family. My methodology strikes a healthy balance between hard work and fun. A well-structured training program includes:

Seeing the big picture (our one-year and four-year goals)
Balancing training within weekly and monthly plans (hard vs. easy days)
Adapting to each day’s circumstances without losing sight of the long-term goals.
Long story short—having days where you or your horse don’t feel like working hard is okay. But if the lack of motivation continues, the training program should reignite your excitement. Sometimes, that requires extra creativity from the trainer!

This year I’m celebrating 30 years of my BarnLife!
Back in Russia I was already teaching pony lessons when I was 13, so it’s 20+ years of a trainer career by now! I’m excited to start offering my knowledge again - now in Southwest Ranches, Florida!

When choosing the best trainer for your child, horse, or yourself, there’s more to consider than price and location. Hopefully, we’ll create a lifelong friendship! I am still in touch with several students I’ve taught worldwide over the last 20 years. Nothing warms a trainer’s heart more than receiving a message saying, “A situation happened, and I heard your voice helping me solve it just right.”

That’s my approach. I aim for deep, long-term relationships with my clients. Building a partnership with a horse is not a fast process. Each horse typically starts under saddle at three years old, competes as a 7-year-old, and is still considered young. Just imagine—someone has invested four years of daily care into developing that horse! The peak performance age for a jumping horse is between 9 and 15 years old. If the training and care have been thoughtful, and with a bit of luck, the horse might still jump comfortably until age 18. After that, it can pass its wisdom to less demanding riders, often until the age of 25. Horses can live up to around 30 years old. It is a deep, long-term relationship between you, your horse, and your trainer.
