Need'um Rescue Need'um Rescue pulls the majority of our shelter dogs from high kill shelters in TX and transport up to MD/VA for adoption!. Thank you again for your time!!

ABOUT NEED'UM RESCUE: Need'um Rescue is foster based and most of our dogs originate from shelters out of state; the majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Texas, especially San Antonio, as they have been known to euthanize up to/over 20 dogs a day. The ones we are a blessing to save are then properly vetted and transported up to Virginia to be adopted into loving homes. We do require

a homecheck and there is an adoption fee for our dogs! VETTING: Every dog in this rescue's care is temperament tested, heartworm tested, fixed, up to date on shots, as well as microchipped before transport. Each dog comes with their own paperwork and all their medical records, including a health certificate stating that the dog has been cleared by a vet and is qualified to cross state lines. DONATIONS:
Unfortunately, Need'um Rescue is NOT a 501c3 just yet and therefore, everything this rescue does for these beautiful animals is out of pocket and without tax exemption. Boarding, transport, shelter adoption fees, medical bills, dog supplies (bowls, crates, collars, toys, leashes), etc and everything else needed for these dogs is all incredibly costly, therefore donations are very much appreciated!!! I will be posting a GoFundMe shortly, but if you'd like to donate to our dogs now, the PayPal account is [email protected]. If you leave leave your name in the comment box, I will make sure to thank personally for your donation and let you know which rescue dog your donation will be helping!! You can also call in pledges directly to the boarding or medical facilities if you feel more comfortable! We also accept donations of old dog items you arent using anymore, such as blankets, toys, doggy clothes, leashes, bowls, crates, etc...ANYTHING that you feel could be helpful in making these dogs feel more at home. FOSTERING: As I have stated above, Needham Rescue is completely foster based. Without temporary places for these dogs to go, millions of dogs a year never make it out of the shelters alive. Please consider opening your home for 2-3 weeks to one of our rescue dogs; the more fosters we find, the more lives we can save!! This rescue does provide a crate, bowls, and a leash to borrow during their temporary stay with you, however foster families are asked to provide their own food to cut costs. TRANSPORTING: We love our transporters!!! Many of our dogs need to catch a ride, whether it be to adoption events, vet visits, return trips to their fosters! Please let me know if you are interested in helping our pups get from one destination to another! Feel free to ask me any questions or contact me if you are interested in donating or becoming a foster! I can help you find a dog that's best suited for your families needs!

As many of you know, I have been an independent rescuer for 10 years. I have worked endlessly to place every dog that has come into my care in the perfect home and have had so many success stories, which I 150 percent owe to the networkers, rescues, fosters, and adopters who have loved these babies just like they were their own. None of these adoptions would be possible without all of you.

The past year has been a difficult one. I began helping a networker who I realized just a little too late, was more about her numbers (clearing the EU list) than she was about the care and quality of life of the dogs after leaving the shelter. The rescues she worked with continued to pull despite having over 500 plus dogs between them within a 6-7 month period (I will discuss this more in another post). The minute I realized how bad it was, I tried to put an end to it and fix the situation- I was met with lies and denial.. and more pulling. Since then myself and several other rescuer have worked tirelessly to fight for these animals who were abandoned by 2 rescues, who have left fosters without help, dogs without medical (many with heartworm), boarding facilities 10k+ unpaid, homeboarders in debt and with zero help… the list goes on.

That brings me to my situation. In this process, I took on 5 dogs to help these rescues. I quickly realized they didn’t not care about the dogs left in my care and I made the decision, after weeks of being their safe place, that I wouldn’t return them to the rescues, despite the financial situation they had imposed on me. I would not let them end up in boarding like so many others, trapped for months on end without a single post to get them to a forever home.

Since then, two have been adopted, but I still have three left. Chex, Queen, and Chance. Chance and Chex in particular have set me back tremendously, as they both had severe skin issues and Chance needed to be neutered. They are all on flea and tick meds and have the proheart shot.

Because I don’t want this particular networker harassing my vets, I will be happy to show anyone who is interested, their medical bills, but for now I will just show pictures of what they used to look like and the issues they still continue to have…

I am hoping some of you will be willing to donate to their care, as I cannot continue without financial assistance. It’s just not possible.

Thank you so much!!! I promise to be transparent about the money raised and will be placing the amount at the bottom! Thank you!

AUGUSTA GA - PLEASE SHARE

This adorable girl came all the way from Texas and is desperately needing a foster or potential adopter!

Oakley/Queen is such a sweetheart. She is nervous at first, but is AMAZINB with kids and other dogs. We are unsure about cats. She can be a little wary of men but if introduced correctly, she actually does pretty well!!

She is potty trained (but must be crated when you leave) and crate trained.

She is spayed, up to date on shots and has the proheart shot.

Please let me know if you are interested in fostering our girl!!

Queen is still looking for her potential forever home!! Please help us find her a new foster (her incredible fosters could no longer keep her now that school is starting) or a potential adopter!! We offer a foster to adopt option and she comes with a crate to borrow and whatever else she may need during her stay. She needs to warm up a bit, but is great with kids and other dogs. No cats or chickens lol. She is potty trained and crate trained. She is spayed and has all of her shots too! Please let me know if you're interested!!

📣 We have remained quiet about this issue for far too long. There is a TikTok networker that goes by the name Rescue Dog Army/ Laura Marie. We, and the shelter, have faced an onslaught of hate originating from this woman and her group of followers for almost a year now. Fueled by misinformation, they continually badmouth our volunteer group and spread outright lies.

We have always disassociated ourselves from them and the rescues they support, due to serious and substantiated concerns about the conditions that the dogs they network face once leaving the shelter. This has led to hateful private messages from Laura Marie telling us we are the reason dogs die.

The other night, this came to a head when Laura Marie came on to our page and began publicly attacking our group, some of the many reputable rescues we work with, and our followers in our comments. We will never tolerate such behavior on our page, and she is now blocked. However, we want to officially state that we have no affiliation with her or the BARC related networking page she supports (Houston’s Urgent Pets), and encourage others to stay away from them both.

Just because a pet is out of the shelter does not mean they are truly safe. We love our followers and supporters, and we will continue to stand up for the humane treatment of our Houston animals❤️
