I'm Mariana, a passionate dog trainer dedicated to helping you build a stronger, happier relationship with your furry friends. This Sunday our Pack Walks are back!! 🎉
It is completely FREE and open to everyone, so grab your pups and bring a friend to enjoy a beautiful Sunday morning walk with a view!

Just a friendly reminder to please arrive on time, so no one gets left behind. Also, please do not allow your dog to run up and meet another dog upon arrival. Bring water for them if necessary and please pick up after your dog.

Meet Titus! I was originally asked to help with his barking at strangers and on leash dog reactivity. We quickly learned that his barking was both fear based and a very common mistake of, rewarding at the wrong time. We decided that due to the level of his reactivity it would be best to work muzzled until it was no longer necessary. I'm so happy to say that only 4 sessions in and he's now muzzle free, walking at parks much more confident and no longer barking at strangers!! Not only that but his on leash dog reactivity has drastically decreased to where he's now comfortable walking, taking treats, and practicing obedience in the presence of Rascal and passerbys. Teamwork makes the dream work! 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Let's talk 🐕 introductions
Make sure your existing dog has been walkedb (tired out). A tired/ calmer dog makes for smoother introductions. You can hold the puppy and allow the older dog to sniff at first then put them down closely monitoring their behaviors and body language. For dogs that have reached maturity and older dogs it would be best to have both dogs walk together witholding the introduction until the end. Rotate who's walking ahead allowing the dogs to sniff the other dogs from a safe distance. Allow the introduction after the walk, closely monitoring their body language. Then crate to allow to decompress and take in their new environment from a safe space.

*This is a general guideline. Each dog is different and their reactions will vary, requiring the plan to be adjusted. 😉

Lets talk puppies! 😍 When is the right time to start training your puppy?
Your puppies are learning what's acceptable and what isn't through your everyday interactions, so it's best to start them off on the right track from the beginning. In my Puppy Development Program which is recommended for puppies 4-6 months covers common behavior problems such as housebreaking, nipping, destructive chewing, managing separation anxiety, beginning leash manners, socialization, properly desensitizing them to their environment, and of course basic obedience. That's why my goal is to strengthen the bond between you and your dog through Exercise, Leadership, and Reinforcement of Positive Behaviors (and if they don't have one we teach em one). "My dog lunges and goes after dogs." Not only do I welcome these clients, I truly understand what they are dealing with. The dreaded battle of attempting to regain control when your dog reacts, and the stress of scanning your environment to be able to avoid confrontations. I understand the guilt for leaving them home when they could be joining you, or removing them when you have company over because their behavior can seem unpredictable. I want you to know that they CAN change and that not only can you do those things that you've been avoiding, but you can do it with confidence. Behavior Modification helps to rebuild that trust between you and your dog, so that you can have that companion you can take with you.

Echo just graduated 🎓from Behavior Modification and has since improved her recall, learned to be calm and confident out on walks, reduced her reactivity drastically, and is now able to walk with other dogs! 💕

Random facts about about my 4 legged coworker....
1. He's a lil clingy 🙄 and follows me to the bathroom
2. 90% of the time he's sleeping on the job 😆
3. When we drive to appointments he sometimes gets carsick 🤢
5. He prefers to be paid in barkbox, snuggles, treats and walks 💕
If you haven't met Rascal yet... You will‼️He helps socialize the young pups, is our 4 legged distraction when working on obedience and leash manners, and most importantly helps rehabilitate our reactive friends!

🚨 Let's talk Dog Aggression 🚨
The Humane Society defines Aggression, as the threat of harm to another individual (person or dog) involving snarling, growling, snapping, biting, barking or lunging. This can be due to guarding territory, resources, or a family member; fear; frustration; prey drive; or pain. Let me introduce....Lala (left). She was my very first dog who through lack of knowledge, developed into what is defined as an aggressive dog. Although sweet and loving in our home and with friends and family, she was unpredictable with strangers and did not do well with other dogs. IYKYK. It is because of her, the education, knowledge, training and hands on experience I gained that I am able to help other dogs like her. It bring me so much happiness to help the owners and family regain their confidence and rebuild that trust with their dogs. It's also important to note that not all reactivity is aggression, but if left unchecked may develope into it. So please reach out for help, it can save you so much time and trial and error. Anything's Pawsible Dog Training wouldn't be here today without you Lala and Remy 🌈🐾

One of the things that the pandemic left us with is dogs who did not get proper socialization at an early age. These dogs may be uncomfortable being approached too quickly, crowded, or loomed over. If you notice them freezing, shrinking, or licking lips give them space so they don't learn to react by barking or low growling. Ways that we can help these pups and all dogs is by using the TWO golden rules when meeting a dog we don't know. One, always ask the owner for permission first. Two, allow them to come to you and smell you. ( And get down a little lower for the little ones you are so much bigger than them). These rules are especially important for kids who live with dogs, as not all dogs may be as friendly as the one they have at home. 😉
