Scandal's retirement home fell through due to illness in the family. She is a 4-year-old spayed biblack female. She gets along with other dogs and is an easy keeper. We are in hellishly hot Phoenix, Arizona and you would need to come here to get her.

The Ch Hollywood x Ch Kristin puppies turned 8 weeks Friday and came over to our house. They were wiggly squiggly for these photos.

We are calling the girl Envy because every time I went to hold the boy, she would try to push him out. The boy is still "puppy puppy" because we haven't found that just right name for him.

The bi black girl, Envy, is looking for her forever home. She is available for companion, performance or show.

The puppies are 5 weeks now. They got their first vaccine and a photo shoot. Tricolor boy is on the top and bi black girl on the bottom.

It was 113 degrees today - proof that summer has arrived in Phoenix. It's not likely to get much better until late September. UGH! We don't do any shows until late September/October timeframe. I'm a firm believer that shows should be fun and it's not fun sweating in miserable weather.

So, what do our dogs do to beat the heat?

They have their longest playtime early mornings from about 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. There are 3 automatic waterers available and 2 play pools for them to cool off in. They are in and out of those play pools all the time. We also have plenty of shade available. Inside of course we have air conditioning. We even have a back-up generator to keep the AC in the dog room running if we have a power outage.

The Hollywood x Kristin puppies are 4 weeks now. They are out of the gerbil stage and starting to look like real puppies. The boy is SO much like his papa, Hollywood.

Here's a ringside photo of Keith and Hollywood in the Best of Breed ring at the ASSA National.

One thing I failed to mention is that both Viper & Hollywood passed their annual eye exam while at the National. Viper has had his health testing done and has his CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number. Hollywood has all but his OFA hip evaluation which he will get done this summer when he is 2 years old.

We got Hollywood's "New Champion" picture today (shown by his breeder Janell Lowman). He's the first of the 4 brothers to finish, but the others are hot on his trail. His next appearance will be the American Shetland Sheepdog Association National mid-April.

I stopped in to see the "oops" litter very briefly...

1. There is a sable boy that is available to a companion home. He's going to be a bit large. He's got a quieter, laid back temperament.

2. There is a cute as can be biblack girl that will be available. It looks like she's going to be on the smaller side - which is the only reason she's available.

The Superstition weekend of shows has ended. Viper was Select Dog Saturday & Monday. As you know, Hollywood finished his AKC championship Sunday. He and Keith got to play in the Best of Breed ring Monday, and they earned best Owner Handler. Then they earned the OH Group 3 later that day! That's a great beginning for those two.

At this point, we don't plan any shows until the American Shetland Sheepdog Association National Specialty show in April. The National runs from April 12 - 20. If you are near Purina Farms (Gray Summit, MO) then, stop by for a visit.

We are hoping to take Garrett (AKC/UKC CH Istari Midnight Sins) for the veterans' competition. Viper (AKC GRCHS/UKC CH Trilliant Coming In Hot) will be shown in Best of Breed. Hollywood (AKC/UKC CH Shenell Istari Sunnyvale Hollywood) will also be shown in Best of Breed!

At the Superstition KC Saturday show, GCHS Viper was Select Dog for a point towards his GCH Gold title (only 199 more to go) and Hollywood was Reserve Winners Dog. Hollywood's brother, Merlin, was Winners Dog - judge Gloria Kerr.

Midland Texas was a PHENOMINAL show circuit for us! Besides Viper earning his Silver Grand Championship:

Viper's son UKC Ch Shenell Istari Sunnyvale Hollywood (pictured) earned two 4-point majors under judges Carolyn Herbel and Judith Brown. This brings his total to 13 points, 3 majors! Hollywood was bred by Janell Lowman & Beki Vale and co-owned with us.

Viper's son Shenell Sunnyvale Like No Other earned a 4-point major under judge Del Richards. Raptor was bred by and is owned by Janell and Beki.

Ch Sunnyvale Istari The Escapologist was Select Bitch at all 4 shows and earned points towards her Grand Championship. (Don't ask me how many because I'm horrible at counting these). Kristin was bred by Beki and us and is co-owned with Kelly Mihok.

Six shows in 5 days are WAY too much! I don't even show the dogs and I'm plum tuckered out! There are plenty of photos of Viper and Garrett on this page, so I decided to show two of our other stars - our sable merle Ace (Sunnyvale Istari Wild Pitch) and Kristin (Ch Sunnyvale Istari The Escapologist). (Ace was bred by Beki White Vale and Kristin was co-bred with Beki).

At the morning Mid-Arizona Shetland Sheepdog Club show (Janet Turnage-Nahikian, judging), Viper (shown by Janell Lowman) and Garrett (shown by Keith) received an Award of Merit. Garrett was also Best Veteran.

At the afternoon Mid-Arizona Shetland Sheepdog Club show (Janet Fink, judging), Viper (shown by Janell Lowman) was Select Dog.

At the Sunday Lost Dutchman KC show, Viper was again Select Dog and Kristin was Best of Opposite S*x (handled by her co-owner, Kelly Mihok).

And today - thankfully our last day - Viper was Select Dog and Ace was Winners Dog. Both were shown by Janell Lowman

We would like to extend congratulations to Rus & Sherilyn Mumme and Bekka Watkins for the very nice Winners Dog award on Winjammin's 24K Magic this Sunday.

It's hard to believe but Maverick will be 8 in June. So he popped off to our favorite vet, Dr. Turner, for a routine check up and bloodwork. We're happy to say that all his bloodwork came back "perfect."

NOT OUR PUPPIES: Tammy Riggs has 4 "keepers" out of her litter sired by our boy, Maverick. So, two are here for socialization and show training. The bi blue is Abigail, and the blue merle is Nick.

Socializing is coming along great. They love people and love to play with our dogs. In fact, they drive a few of our senior dogs crazy wanting to play.

Show training: OMG I wish I'd gotten a video! Abigail on a leash is miss drama. She screams, jumps, lands on her back on the grass like she's being tortured. Meanwhile, Keith is standing there loosely holding the leash and looking at her like "when you're done we can begin."

I had to take Nick to one of our other yards for training because her drama would set him off. He doesn't totally get it yet, but he did well for his first time.
