This is a trainer in Florida (I don’t know him) that has the correct diagnosis of why this dog is acting this way. MOST people would say this dog was or is abused. This behavior IS from babying this dog. If you baby a dog, you get a baby! I don’t know the trainer or the dog, but I would bet that when this behavior was displayed as a puppy the owners said “leave him alone” or “it’s ok, you’re ok!” In a sweet reassuring voice. Which doesn’t make the situation better, it teaches the dog “it’s ok” to whine and cry in situations that don’t require that behavior. It teaches the dog to see every situation that causes pressure, stress or discomfort that it’s a good idea to overreact with vocalizing and submission. It’s causing this dog more stress and discomfort than normal. Please don’t baby your dogs! Give firm and FAIR corrections, and motivational praise when deserved. Dogs need desensitization to some stress and discomfort. It is a part of life for ALL animals.
“Duke” is a 6 month old puppy that is already 70lbs. 🐕Getting him into training while young is essential as he will be a large dog and potentially hard to control if obedience and boundaries arnt established at a young age. 🐶

After her 2 week Board and Train of learning confidence through obedience she can now not only take on distractions but also pass by dogs with confidence!
