Rebranding in 5...4...3...2...

We're rolling into our 10th summer chasing hogs behind these white dogs, and it felt like the right time for a fresh look. After a decade of growth, hard lessons, and unforgettable hunts, we wanted a logo that reflects the journey. There’s no better way to do that than by honoring the dog who’s been at the heart of it all: The Saw.

Thanks to his grit in the woods and the legacy he’s left in our yard, it’s always been the House of Buzz. Now, one of his defining moments will represent Deguello Dogos moving forward.

It might take a minute to get used to seeing something new at the top of the page, but trust, it means the same thing it always has. We’re here to work, to hunt, and to keep pushing these dogos to be elite hunters.

First time these dogs have seen a horse up close. The lack of reaction shows confidence in the situation. Our pack hunt multiple small farms, and learning tolerance and adaptability are important. 👍

Two pairs of littermates we placed in working homes, getting it done over 1,000 miles apart yesterday (Louisiana/California). By placing our pups in the best homes possible for a hunting lifestyle, we're doing what we can to help preserve the working aspects of this breed.

A few of our favorite pictures from 2023. At a certain point, it stops being about individual dogs and starts being about the program itself... There's some nice young talent on this yard right now, but the knowledge and desire to succeed that will benefit them, was gained through all the years prior to this.
Time marches on, and today we started year 7 of the Deguello Project, catching a young boar in the Elm Creek. There are still no major accolades or awards that we are chasing, only trying to preserve this breed in line with the vision of its creators. And although it is no longer about the individual dogs (Except Buzzsaw. 😍😍), it is the individual dogs and the one on one interactions with them that make all the hours we put into this worth it.

Great Hunt this evening. Took the twins (Bridget & Bronn del Vahalla Cordobesa), Birdie (8 month old Buzzsaw daughter), and Bronson (7 month old male from Rapid Hunters Team). This was Bronson's 1st time in the woods as a hunter. The 4 of them hit a track, went 250 yards, jumped up some pigs and caught a young sow. Birdie's progressing quickly.
Bronson's performance spoke volumes. A natural hunter who stayed caught for several minutes, On The 1st Hog he's been shown since coming to America as a pup.

3 of the Dogos on this hunt are on the yard because their breeders trusted us and wanted to see what their genetics were capable of producing. Enough so, that they arranged the transportation of these pups from the other side of the planet to put them in our hands...
We are grateful for their faith in us and do our best to give all of our dogs the opportunity to become the best hunters they can be.

The Deguello Project is simple. Hunt an all-Dogo pack, year-round with a goal of averaging one hog a week.
Tonight's two put us at 53 for the year...

This was supposed to be a 'Rebuilding year'. A yard full of young dogs, (some hadn't even been born yet), and an old-man Buzzy made up the team. But after some strong performances from the next generation, and Buzzsaw showing us he's still The Great One, this has been one of our best years of hunting, And we're not done yet....

Bring on 2024, The Killer B's are ready.

There's a pair of Buzzsaw x Brienne littermates out in Cali that are literally Killing it.... Billy the Kid and Jigsaw have been putting in the miles and putting down the hogs. Most of their catches, And Strikes, have been solo... .dogos does an excellent job with them, and we are grateful for the opportunity to see Buzzsaw sons catching monsters in the hills of Northern California.

The Baddest MFer on the Planet doesn't act wary, or cautious, or aggressive... He's confident and patient and kind.

Funny how things can be quiet for a season, then you have an Incredible week of hunting at the tail-end of the hottest summer on record.
Bridget and Bronn (The Montenegro 🇲🇪 Wonder Twins) both looking like the seasoned, athletes they are, but it's still Buzzsaw's planet. 5 of the 6 caught were his, with the last one being a solo catch on a young boar in the creek.

Yard full of prospects coming into the fall, including Bronson, our newest soldier coming all the way from Hungary. His breeders are Great Friends of ours and sent him to Texas to become the excellent hunter we know he will be. Also, our Bitter × Butch pups (Buzzsaw daughter crossed to Buzzsaw grandson), turned 7 weeks yesterday and got cropped today.

Hundreds of miles and hours taken to get to this point. Praying there will be hundreds more to come.
