After our Yard Sale, WCHS Spay/Neuter fund is now $ 1,500 richer!!! Thank you to all the members, family and friends who volunteered!! And all who came and bought items. Awesome!!

Today started out with 4 dogs and many felines headed to Dunlap and the Sequatchie Valley Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. Three dogs even met us there!!! All arrived safely and are in the care of the clinic.

Today we brought cats to the Joy Clinic in Lebanon. Thank you to the White County Humane Society volunteers who coordinate and make this happen. Here are pictures from today, including the van after being loaded for the transport with our feline companions.
All this could not be accomplished without the valuable service that New Lease on Life and the Joy Clinic offer. We extend to them our gratitude.

GFWC Sparta Women's Club created a Cookbook called Taste of Tennessee. The proceeds from the sales and sponsorships will be divided between the WCHS and POPS (Pals of Pooches of White County Animal Shelter). Today, WCHS was presented a check for $2,300.00. Our gratitude and thanks to the GFWC Sparta Women’s Club for supporting our program to provide spay/neuter assistance.

Thanks to everyone with the "Animal Friendly" specialty license plate! The spay/neuter clinic or assistance program near you appreciates your support and they are busy applying for grant funding provided by the sale of this plate. Be sure to ask for "Animal Friendly" when you renew!

The location for transports on the first and third Wednesdays of the month will be at the White County Public Library. We will be using the parking area closest to the road, and the overhang area to the left of the library entrance.

Today, we had the privilege of representing FWCA and WCHS in presenting certificates of appreciation to local businesses who supported the Chili Supper. ($ 7,418 was raised for spay/neuter services in White County).

The White County Humane Society has been the recipient of this beautiful quilt, made by Barbara Gaynor. It can hang on your wall, be used as a lap robe or any other wonderful way you want to share this craftsmanship with others!!!
We will hold a Silent Auction, beginning bid of $25. The quilt will be displayed at the chili supper and bids will be accepted that night. The bidding will continue until Monday, March 11, ending at the White County Humane Society Meeting. If you would like to bid, please message us with your name/phone number/bid. I will update the bid daily, and you can find that bid here on Facebook.

Animals were signed in, names placed on carriers, after care instructions given out and loaded onto the van for the trip to Sequatchie Valley Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic. 22 cats and 8 dogs transported…. (One Sassy little guy even rode in the front with me!).

Last year the WCHS received an $1800.00 S/N grant from the proceeds generated by those who purchase these plates. Thank-you to everyone that has S/N license plates on their vehicles.

Want to see more spay/neuter in Tennessee? We do! Please ask for the "Animal Friendly" license plate when you renew this year. The additional cost funds grants for about 100 TN spay/neuter programs. The more plates sold, the more money for spay/neuter! Thanks to all who already have one!
