SPCA Cincinnati Founded in 1873, SPCA Cincinnati has a long history of service to the Greater Cincinnati community. This location is SPCA’s only operating shelter facility.

SPCA Cincinnati is a humane society dedictaed to strengthen the human-animal bond, reducing pet overpopulation through SPCA’s spay & neutering program, and rescuing as many animals from homelessness and illnesses.❤️ Originally founded as the Ohio Humane Society, it was the first organization of its kind in Ohio. In 1907, the name was changed to The Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cru

elty to Animals, which was headquartered in downtown Cincinnati. The headquarters moved to Colerain Avenue in Northside in the 1930s. Thanks to the generosity of the community, SPCA Cincinnati built the Sharonville Humane Center in 2008, and received Simmonds Farm as a donation in 2009. The current headquarters for the SPCA Cincinnati is 11900 Conrey Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. Today, SPCA Cincinnati remains the very epitome of true service to the people and animals in our community. SPCA Cincinnati takes in over 7,305 dogs and 6,001 cats annually. In addition to providing shelter and rehabilitation to these animals in need, SPCA Cincinnati collaborates with government, law enforcement, and social service organizations in its ongoing effort to encourage humane principles and foster the human-animal bond.

The happiest of tails! A friend & community partner to the SPCA Cincinnati, their son, decided to adopted Vinny (short for Valentino) end of last year on Dec 16th, 2024. Vinny is doing fantastic! We couldn't be more thankful to see this face in such a warm and loving place... Vinny's forever home. 🫶 We are grateful for our Rescue Family.

UPDATE: Storm is back at our shelter to no fault of her own. If you are interested in rescuing this deserving girl, give us a call us at 513-541-6100 before visiting our facility at 11900 Conrey Road Noon-6pm. 🫶 Storm has weathered the worst; so resilient and sweet Storm was able to find her person through our shelter. Before being adopted at the SPCA Cincinnati, she had to undego surgery for cherry eye. Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony of SPCA Cincinnati’s #ChowNowPantry was a tremendous feeling, a very special moment for a long time coming. We give many thanks and a lot of gratitude to our volunteers, led by Anne Cox & her support team: Judy Bohn, Suzi Hoffman, Sibley Biederman, Paula Pickerill, Manda Thorton, and Sandee Kurtz. The SPCA Cincinnati is grateful to the City Of Sharonville’s Lori Schutt, Beth Collins, and David Mcandless for their recognition & presence this afternoon! To our local media affiliates, thank you for showing up for our organization. To our community partners, you are unsung heroes in this initiative.
