Freedom Dogs is completely dedicated to the happiness and mental soundness of our four legged friends, as well as to the goals of their two legged family members. We strive to create the best possible training and learning environment for everyone, by spending time getting to know each individual we work with, whether it be dog or human, and adapting our teaching methods and training programs, to

meet the needs, learning styles, goals and personalities of all of our clients. We are passionate about what we do, and we find happiness in doing our job every day. Our goal for our clients is to educate and motivate them, as we help them navigate the world of dog ownership, and all the adventures and challenges it may bring.

Going for bike rides has been a huge help for Ranger during his behavior modification program with us! 🚴 🏜️

We are always looking for ways to improve quality of life for our students and their human companions through enrichment and training.

Some of our students have more limitations in life due to their individual personalities and experiences, and finding ways to provide joy, freedom and exercise is on the top of our priority list.

We’ve been a bit quiet on here for a few weeks as Aesop and I prepped for and competed at the 2023 AWDF National Championship!

Aside from our passion for helping our students live their best lives with their families, we strive to improve our relationships with our own dogs and fine tune our skills and knowledge in the art of dog training through competitions like this one. Will share some highlights soon!

A big congratulations to and her dog Helix for completing the first leg of their French Ring 2 and first place for their level this past weekend!

We love the amazing experiences and continued growth as trainers that the dog sport world gives us! Awesome job!

Finn had his first family day today. ⭐️

One of the most important aspects of our board and train programs, are the transition training lessons where we begin to integrate the dog’s family into the training program we’ve been building.

During these sessions, we often see regression and frustration from the dogs as they work through the conflict of resisting old behaviors while learning that the new behaviors we’ve been reinforcing have value when they’re family is around as well.

Group hikes are a great place for dogs to practice social etiquette. Mingling in a diverse group of dogs where behavior is monitored by a trainer, can help dogs with socially challenging behaviors, learn how to develop relationships with other dogs through structured and safe play groups. Bo was busy walking next to me, earning her treats, to be bothered with too much play, but Blue doesn’t turn down an opportunity to fraternize, so we worked on offered check ins and heavy rewards any time he diffused his own play and checked in with me, when things got too heated. Practicing our skills sets out of the context of distractions, is an important part of Blue’s training routine. If his sessions are always difficult and have the potential to always lead to arousal, he will have less tolerance for the challenges of daily life. This way only 1 out of every 5 or 6 of his training sessions actually involve his triggers and take more of his energy to make different decisions.
