Welcome back to Setting it Straight Saturday. Today, we’re sharing out about adoption fees. PPR has an incredibly reasonable adoption fee, especially when you consider all of the care that our pups receive before you adopt them. Read on to learn more.
Dobby
Adopted!
Dobby needs a home this little 10 pound spitfire loves to play. He is such a happy guy his tail never stops. Still all puppy he needs some direction. He will keep up with the best of them.
Topaz
Topaz has made a friend
If you have ever considered fostering before we could really use you. If you have adopted from us, you are approved to foster. We have 9 dogs on their way and they need fosters. Please if you can help even once would be amazing
Buddy entertaining himself on this dreary weekend.
This is why we do what we do. From death row to our rescue partner in MS to his forever home in Maine❤️
Adopted!!
We come across a lot of dogs but some are really special. This is one of them. Tyson is the best boy who has had a rough start of it. We are working hard to socialize him. He has been to the dog park, the hardware store and the pet store. He is getting more comfortable in the car and with all new situations. He has the most soulful eyes and wants a best friend. He walks so well on the leash, gets along with dogs of all sizes and great with cats. He loves a soft dog bed and is rather quiet.
He does like a good romp in the yard with the other dogs and is quite attached to my teenage daughter. This wonderful boy has not had one application. He is a shepherd mix maybe 50 pounds.
Adopted!!
Beautiful Clyde is still waiting for a home. He is great with other dogs. He is housebroken enjoys walks. Clyde is a love. Perfect size at 35 pounds he is a Rat terrier mix.
From her foster: Miss Cora has steadily come out of her shell, and what a fun sweet gal she is! We've gone on many adventures! Although a fenced in yard is a must, she's excellent on leash. We've been hiking and exploring the beautiful mountains of Maine and she absolutely loves being in nature. Cora has quickly warmed up to male figures and even greets men on the trail with no hesitation.
She's completely housebroken and not at all food motivated. Cora has conquered some of the toughest challenges she could possibly face from being a mill momma, and a breast cancer survivor to making the long journey to Maine searching for her perfect home! FMI on Cora please head to our website and read her bio. #pprpup #adoptdontshop #passionforpetsrescue #rescuedog
UPDATE: Adopted!
Sweet Rex has been waiting too long for a home. He is a sweet boy who can be shy. He LOVES dogs and needs one in his home. He also needs a secure fenced in area. Who wants to give Rex a home for the holidays?
We are looking to grow our volunteer team to help with ‘vetting’.
We need someone to:
File medical records by transport date in e-files, update/collate medical records as needed, and complete quarterly State reports
Communicate with partner veterinarians about vetting needs for current fosters and authorize extra vetting as needed
Order preventatives and supplies as needed, set up preventatives at transports for each arrival, and provide monthly preventatives to long-term fosters
Attend adoption events when possible and assist when extra help is needed
You are: comfortable with Google docs/suite, organized, have flexibility in your day. Bonus: familiar with dogs/medical issues. Transports are generally twice per month.
If you are interested, or have questions, please direct message the Rescue.
Sibling fun
UPDATE: Bennie - Adopted! Maddie - Adopted!
Maddie and Bennie are being fostered together, but will be placed separately.
When Maddie arrived, she would lay down on the ground and wouldn't walk on a leash (which also makes bathroom training difficult). Switching to a harness has definitely helped --Maddie is blossoming while here. We are now able to walk around the block and the goal is a small, quiet hike. In a short time, she has learned "sit," "down," and we are working on "stay," and "heel". She is very smart and will work for treats. Ninety percent of the time she likes to stay by my side, the other 10 percent is trying to figure out how to get to the cats' food!
Bennie is very sweet and friendly with the people in the house, but still very shy. He will need someone that understands this and take things slowly. He will walk on his harness, but not far at all. He likes treats but has no interest (at this time) working for them!
What a happy fellow! #Rambo
