Time for reintroduction! Hi. I’m Abbey!
Growing up around dogs, I found they brought a level of comfort/calmness that was unique. I also realized I had a special connection with dogs and I knew I needed to be involved in the dog world. Although I didn’t realize how difficult it could be to get involved, I spent years looking for a shadow program, being denied everywhere I turned. I then began my own journey of learning, reading, observing, watching & testing techniques until I decided to jump with both feet & go for it! Fast forward 9 years later here I am, running my business, helping owners, one dog at a time! Always learning, growing and expanding in equipment, technique, and knowledge! I run a unique operation in the aspect that I aim to be affordable and the one point of contact from beginning to end! I offer options and a wide variety of choices in the teachings & equipment used during my programs! Every dog is different and deserves to learn based upon more than their breed! I teach and you learn too right along side your dog one week at a time! At AK Kennel you & your dog become a member of my pack!

Around: a super easy indoor activity/brain game to teach your dog during icky weather or just something new. Begin by luring your dog around an object (chair, bench, crate, stool) then once your dog understands “around” increase the difficulty & distance between you and the object! #dogtraining #indooractivity #braingame #trainyourdog

Home Depot trip with Oliver today! He did very well with all the people & dogs around. He was uncertain of the moving carts but got him to check it out a bit and build some extra confidence in himself. #bringer #britneyspringerspaniel

@mrbuttersbob took a stroll through D&B yesterday. He’s getting so much better about not trying to meet every person he sees. He even sat very nicely and let a little girl pet him without all the crazy attached! #corgi

Sometimes it’s the little wins in training that make the big picture look closer to reaching. Oliver was VERY uncertain of this weird thing in this super big busy store. But after few minutes he stood on it without jumping off and wagged his little happy tail. #britneyspringerspaniel

Murphy’s first time inside a store & he did OUTSTANDING! He got lots of compliments inside D&B today and made his mom super proud!! He saw & heard a few dogs but was able to keep his composure and focus on me! #bernedoodle
