All Northwest Naturals products are (and have been) safe, and tested free from H5N1, and the voluntary recall is closed.

The FDA conducted an on-site audit for over a month, and the audit did not contain any findings related to H5N1 or Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, and the FDA did not identify the source of the alleged contamination found in the opened bag tested by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Northwest Naturals' products continue to be manufactured in a USDA and FDA-regulated facility. The USDA is onsite every day on every shift and has offices in each of the facilities. Their products are produced in facilities that comply with USDA human-grade food standards. NWN only buys approved human-grade raw materials, and carefully evaluates all of their suppliers, and maintain robust quality control and quality assurance programs.

TLDR: The recall has been terminated, and proven unecessary. Feed your pets well, and rest easy!
