There are a few cats at our shelter who have waived adoption fees. We have had a few humans notice that these kitties have been struggling to find a home. They've paid their fees in hopes to help them. We're making this post in hopes that you can help us spread the word to help find them a forever home. Click on their photo to learn more about them. ❤️

Our Story
Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills provides a safe and comfortable environment for dogs and cats from Oxford County, Maine that have become lost or have been abandoned.
Responsible Pet Care is a no-kill, non-profit shelter. All of the cats and kittens in our care need permanent homes and are available for adoption. Many of the dogs will be reunited with their owners; but some will require new homes.
Our shelter is equipped to care for 150 or more cats and kittens at any one time, and is always full to capacity. The dog area holds twelve to twenty at one time.
We take in and adopt an average of 400 cats and kittens per year. Incoming dogs average 150 per year. Many dogs are reunited with their owners. All adopted animals leave the shelter healthy, spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV tested-cats, heartworm tested-dogs, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and treated for internal and external parasites. This is all done at the expense of RPC.
As a true no-kill shelter we have a higher percentage of special needs animals than most shelters. Some animals have been with us for years and we will continue to care for them until they are adopted or have reached their natural life-span.
When possible, we work with abuse victims and the homeless to provide temporary housing for their pets during their transitional period.
The funds needed to support RPC and to carry out our mission come from our thrift shop; fundraising events; grant money; and donations from private individuals and organizations.
Whether you are looking for your lost pet or you want a companion, make Responsible Pet Care the first place you visit.
