What a day we have had. The pattern to become bonded pack us always the same. Honeymoon, challenging and bonded. We have just had a blast. It wasn't raining but hot. With a double coat out time was short but often. Was also play indoors. He sometimes looks at me like "your crazy" 🤣 Where did my human get you? 🤣😂 I have seen the look before. Indoors we played herd, fetch, fund the treat, frozen snack for lunch, short walk also tug-of-war. Very gently as Shelties have fragile treat. He met my hubby Willie when he came to pick me up for date night. Kirby stood guard for 10 seconds before he became butter in my husband's hands. It has been and active day. Now recharge.... 🤣

My Grand cats Bennie and Kala. Bennie is part Maine C**n, Kala.... Well.... Not much info on her as she was adopted frome the Human Society and they said she was about a year. 😉 After spending some time with her I am pretty sure she to is part Maine C**n too. 🤩 My breed dream cat....

Introducing, Kirby 👏👏..... He is a 1 year old Shetland Sheep dog.This is our first time together. Which always means getting to know each other. He is very well behaved. Has mr trsined too
😉 If you believe the charts he would be apx 15 in human years. 😉 Well I know 15 year olds and .... He is nothing like them, expect when he talks back... Yes, he communicates and talks back. 😁 He is very good at letting me know which toy he wants us to play with next. He loves to spin and herd. He has the energy of a 4 year old not a 15 year old. 🤣 He is getting me back into shape chasing, walking, herding, fetching. 🤣😉😂 So excited to be Kirby's Nanny while his humans are away. 🥰

Hubby and I are on a well deserved vacation. 😍 of course we are going with 20 some people. This is my hubby's 1954 HD Servi-car. We/he, are participating in.the Brave the Bridge servi-car run. I will be one of the trouble trucks. I will be dry. 😉 Currently we are on the SS Badger ferry to Ludington MI. Wednesday they Brave the Mackinaw Bridge, all 5 miles of open grate Bridge and on to Escanaba, MI and home. What till you see the new fur I am with next week. He is Super cute and a spinner..... the next week 4 more new furs. July is the New Furs month.... 😁 I am so blessed to be caring for others furs, so they can go on much needed vacations or get aways. Enjoy your week. 🥰🐈🐕🐕🐕🐕

Yesterday was tough one. As I sit here on Mr. Max's steps, to write his obituary, my heart breaks... The memories flood back on the past 24 year. Max has been a huge part of our lives. From the kitten who Willie had to crawl under the the deck in the middle of the night to get. He had some lungs. To sleeping in Willie's helmet. Bringing us presents of dead forest animals and the ones not dead, that he brought into the house to play with us. Mind melding, laser chasing, picky eater, grandkid hater, until he lost his hearing. Shower companion, rain lover, dirty water, toliet and hot tub water slurper. Paw washer after using his box and clay prints all over the house, or shaking them off to leave it hang on the walls. Car and truck traveler. Never in a cage! Cat hater...big time! 4:30 am get ups to go outside. Sun love, but radiators and modems worked too. Laying every night on Willie's chest to pur and sleep. Cat glitter always and only on my spot of the couch. He changed even the biggest cat hating men into butter. He change some really Cat haters.... I got to be his personal groomer when he decided he no longer cared to do the job. Climb trees without claws. Eating the cat nip plant, popping out from under his stairs while watering the plants on them. He was legendary to many and will always be to us.

Hanging in the sun warming his old bones. When he gets hot he moves to under his stairs for some shade. He can also view a huge portion of his domain. 🥰😻😹

Oh Max..... He Likes water alot! Not uncommon for him to come into the show or visit us in the hot tub. Yesterday in the rain he would go down to the shop, Willie would let him out. He would make his way back up to the deck, I would let him in of course soaking wet. His fur is like a sponge. So of course the towel full body massage. It took me... (I am a Pet Nanny, I know this behavior.) He just likes the body massage.... after the body massage he would go to his personal heater the router. 🤣 Warm up, repeat. This went on like every 10 minutes for a few hours, I had to get a couple new towels. Ding, Ding, Ding... Max is playing us. Oh well..... Who doesn't need some extra love and hugs once in a while. 🥰😻🤗

Spending time with Rajah and Rodger this week while their humans are away. Rodger is a smooth collie and so sweet. He is a bit of a scary cat, but once he is comfortable, he is so relaxed and loves butt scratches. Rajah is too funny. She tries to make you think she doesn't like you, but..... She likes me... 😉 Although she will swipe me if I get to friendly. 🤣😂

Done napping after successful morning hunt... He was walking pretty stiff but right back to hunting. He is crazy... but he fit our house hold. Runner till you can not, rest, repeat. 🤣😂 Every time we agree he is on his way across he proves us wrong. 😹😻

Saddness today, these cuties are no longer with us. I feel so bad for momma. She is the one sitting looking out on the rock pile. Found a tail this morning on the deck..We do now know why Max isn't eating his food. Chippy Sushi is yummier. 🤢

Where is Max? Watching and protecting His kingdom, from under his stairs.

I haven't had alot of time home, with Max the past year expecially past 2 months. This is very special time for me. He is a Kool cat! One of a kind. Today he almost went through the screen door to get a baby chipmunk. 🙄 I think he forgets he's old. Athough, he is old, ceerky, off balance sometimes, deaf, naps alot and forgetful. He thought he was young and vibracious. He went after what he wanted. But forgot the door was closed 🫢... I wonder if he would have gotten the chipmunk if the door had been open?

Today Max hunts. 🐿 Stone deaf but keen eyes.. 🤣 When he was younger he would sit for hours to get his opportunity to bring us a dead or maybe not so dead present home. Now he still can sit for a very long time, but he also takes naps while sitting and hunting. All of a sudden his head will drop and nappy nap he goes... He is just a Hoot...

Oh Max! Max LOVES water. As a kitten he would sit in the shower with us. As an adult he demands to be let into the shower. Yesterday, actually since Sunday we haven't been able to keep him in. He goes out, walks around and comes back in soaking wet. I mean soaking wet. His furry is like a sponge. So he gets a full body massage in a big warm towel. About the 20th time yesterday it dawned on me. For being almost 112 in human years and a bit forgetful.... I think he kept doing it yesterday because of the big warm towel and full body massage. Oh Mr. Max... You crazy cat....

Update... He rebonded again last night and had us up at 4:30 am to go outside... How do you not say NO to the old man..... every day is closer to the end... but as his vet says.. one hour, once day and enjoy each of them with him as if it were his last....🥰
Today is a tough one.. Max is working his way to his bridge. We knew this day would come. I could tell before we left for vacation. I am so glad we have a wonderful caretaker when we leave and he isn't in a cage boarded in a strange place with strangers. Being a Pet Nanny, I have had the privilege of caring for 10+ pets over the years while they were making their way to their bridge. One thing they all have in common "The howl" Max started occasionally 2 weeks before we left. We know he is not in pain as he has been to the vet twice since after Christmas. The reality hit us when we filled out the vet release for him before our March trip. 24 years is a long life for an indoor/outdoor, declared cat. 24 years of loving him, throwing out zillion cans of food because he is a picky eater. 24 years of cat box cleaning. 24 years of entertainment. 24 years of unconditional Love. I am so glad for the next 2 weeks, I am at home or close by. This is our second cat to wait for us to get home to cross. They always want their humans by their side. This is going to be the toughest one yet....

We are home... It was Great to see Gimpy or resident Doe. Yes she is missing part of her front left leg, but she has made it through 2 hunting seasons with her bad leg. Wondering is she might have a fawn this year. She did last year.

He is just killing me... He knows we are leaving. He watched us load the bikes, 2 suitcases, coolers...He is our shadow. 😿 In one door out the other. This isn't his first bike trip... at almost 24, it is really hard to leave him.😪 I know he will be amazing well taken care of. Which takes a huge load off. The Pet Nanny needed a Pet Nanny. 😉 I can't imagine boarding him, The stress he would be under, break my heart! He will be home. Able to take a nap in one of his favorite spots. Drink from his fountain bowl. Sleep in his favorite chair, that he has slept on for almost 24 years. Thank you Mike and Cathy you are a blessing to us! 🥰🤗
