A Girl With A Passion
My name is Ann-Marie and I have a passion for animals and helping others. I have worked for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society where my main focus was fundraising and cultivating relationships. Coming from a non-profit background, I developed a love for being of service to other people. I was in the corporate world for several years with a nagging feeling that I was not doing
what I was meant to do. I loved working for a non-profit that helped people, but I wanted to combine this skill with my equal love for animals. My grandfather and uncle were both veterinarians and I grew up helping out at their hospitals. When I was in high school, I volunteered at the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland, NJ and loved working with the animals there. My mother and I have rescued Beagles and I have trained all four of them. I helped take care of my grandmother’s German Shepherd when he had cancer and one of my Beagles when she developed renal failure. I was always the go-to person in the summer when friends needed someone they could trust to watch their pets. Being able to be there for someone when they were in a pinch and needed someone to watch their pet(s) in order give them that peace of mind is the reason why I have decided to pursue this field of work. To me, this is another way of helping and giving back to others. I have been a consistent volunteer at the SPCA of Briarcliff. Here I facilitate playgroups, assist in shelter dog training, and conduct nosework sessions in order to help socialize dogs and make them more adoptable. This has been incredibly rewarding for me and has strengthened my passion to work with animals. I have been working as a professional dog walker and pet sitter for several months now and through these interactions, I have had the opportunity to work with many families and their animals. As such, I have decided to turn this experience into a fulfilling career helping families... one wag at a time. I am patient, organized and reliable.
