Kate is just over a year old, she’s one I’d let go if someone was interested. She’s a two year nursery age. Otherwise I’ll put some training on her. Hips xrayed and dna is done.

Frankie and I had a big fight yesterday over him trying to eat the lambs. Today he was so much easier to work with I was really happy 🤣

Billy, my other Ben pup. He’s a lot pushier and faster moving than his sister Tina but of a very similar style of work. Looking forward to training these two up and hoping to use Ben as a sire again next year.

Tina, one of my Ben puppies, she’s an interesting one. She’s always been so calm.

Eve and Rope are now my cattle working crew. They seem to be a decent team

Just some fiddle farting around with Eve. Splitting off groups and driving them away

Teddy bear discovered there are these things called sheep today. No more wandering around loose with me anymore 🤣

Due to a last minute cancellation I have 2 training spots available now. Contact me for more information (405) 268-2855

Ben moving pairs to the corral. This is one from back in July that I don’t think I uploaded.

This was actually recorded a couple weeks ago. This is a little clip training on Rope.

The trouble with taking photos of dark faced dogs. Teddy Bear looks like he has no eyes. 🤣

Eve’s run at the national sheepdog finals in nursery with Blake. Thanks a bunch for running her! I am excited to have her back here, she has swapped back to me like she hadn’t left. I’ll be using her next week to set sheep on the small field at Sand Rock SDT and then in November she should whelp a litter of pups. Crossing fingers. By the next time I go to the post, I’ll run her in open, that will likely be February as I’ll be setting sheep at a couple of the Texas winter series trials.

This is my other Ben pup I kept. His first looks at sheep he was a very steady type, now we are seeing some puppy silliness. He needs some pushing on to correct the naughty stuff but he handles correction ok.

Tina, one of my pups by Ben. They are seven months old now.

As some of you may have noticed Ben didn’t wind up going to a new home from finals, so he is still looking for his new handler. He was 17th out of 150 dogs at the national finals this past week in the preliminaries. Hung out with me all over and was petted by lots of people with no issues. Was not a happy camper after I was no longer in the picture and I had to turn around and drive back. I’ve sent him with Blake to work for a while and he may stay there until either he’s sold or after Texas Finals in November, which Blake entered him in, that should get him used to being handled by someone else. He’s a clingy type. Message me to talk more about him.

I didn’t get too many miles down the road before getting a phone call to come back for Ben 🤣 He decided he wasn’t going to leave the spot he last saw me under the handler’s tent and wouldn’t let anyone lead him away. He is with me and we are getting on the road again. So Ben the momma’s boy is back on the market. He will definitely need some time to bond with his new person. I’ll catch up with some of the people who I previously talked to soon but for now I have a couple days of driving ahead of me to get home. 😴

Ben gripped off in the semi on the cross drive. The lambs were heavy and wanting to eat. So I am having a consolation quesadilla while Ben makes sad eyes at me. This was our last trip to the post as a team, he is leaving here to Pennsylvania to be someone else’s open dog, and I’ll be heading home to get training on some pups.

It’s been a busy busy few days at the National Sheepdog Finals in Virginia. I’ve been course directing on the nursery field but I did get to run Ben today in open and looks like we will be moving on to the semi finals. Tomorrow is the last day of open and nursery preliminaries. The open has been live-streamed all week, on Friday they will livestream the nursery final and then they will do open semi finals Saturday and the double lift final on Sunday. I shared the link on here the other day. I’ll try to put together a better update sometime soon, I’m off to bed, gotta get an early start tomorrow 🤪
