Ali learning to walk on a loose leash, and have a nice easy walk with me. This dogs. Does like to pull but in a short time he’s learning not to do that. He alway have a marking issue, marks every tree every few steps. I am correcting him from doing that.
He will look at walks completely different from now, building engagement and body awareness. Building in obedience during his walks so he has to think and pay attention.

Many of my clients when they reach out to me one of the problems they have is their dog sniffing everything along the walk. Their dogs drag them from one tree, to the next, and to the next.
One problem is that the dog is successful in the behavior of pulling and they are rewarded each time they get to that tree or that piece of grass and are allowed to sniff it. The dogs is repeating what is successful and what works.
What needs to happen first is to practice and gain control and master a loose leash walk. That is when your dog walks on a leash without any pulling, there should be no tension on your leash. Your dog follows your lead, if you turn left, right, about turn etc. the dog understands on a walk you are leading the way.
Your dog should walk politely down the street at your side. Once this is mastered you can start to give your dog a little more freedom along the walk. But first they must earn that privilege.
On our walks i always allow my dogs time to sniff and explore with their nose. They can’t turn their nose off and everything outside stimulates them and they want to investigate. I don’t have a problem with that. I do not allow my dogs to drag me or pull me to each and every tree during our walks I NEVER HAVE.
FREE COMMAND- this simply means on our walks of i say free my digs know they can walk ahead of me they can leave the heel position and do what they want. If i have a 6ft leash then they have 6 feet of freedom is it’s 10 ft they have 10 feet of freedom. They don’t pull me but they do wander around and explore at their leisure. If i ask them to return to a heel then they do that without a problem.
These things were all worked on separately, loose leash walking, the free command, and our heel command. Put together, we enjoy a beautiful walk with clarity and everyone enjoys.
Take the time to teach your dog how you want them to act, the things you want them to do. If not they will always do what’s rewarding to them and those things a

❗️Marker training uses words or sounds to communicate or signal to the dog that he is doing something correctly or incorrectly.❗️
The words or sounds capture or mark a specific moment in time when the dog performs an action or behavior. It is the most easiest form of feedback for the dog.
In this video I’m using a clicker with Ralph and he’s working for his morning meal. Keep in mind Ralph has been loaded on the clicker so he understands it.
The words used most used are
1️⃣. YES
2️⃣. GOOD
3️⃣. NO
4️⃣. FREE OR BREAK
