This 1-year-old terrier mix is all ears—literally! With his adorable perky ears and happy personality, Pedro is sure to steal your heart. He’s still got some fun puppy energy and is working on his manners (especially his excited little hops!), but he’s eager to learn—especially if treats are involved!

Pedro is all about love—he adores attention, pets, and giving sweet kisses. While he’s not too interested in toys when we met, he’s happiest when he’s by your side, soaking up affection. If you’re looking for a cuddly, happy-go-lucky companion who will always brighten your day, Pedro is your guy!

This handsome boy is a bundle of energy! Couch potatoes need not apply! Pedro exudes joy and clearly kennel life is not for him…he’d like a ticket out. Talk about some hypnotic eyes! Seal is just begging for a second chance. And maybe some chicken nuggets. With those puppy dog eyes, he can have whatever he wants. He met Darla (who wasn’t really into being friends) and Tyga & Catino. Seal is def not dog aggressive but my guess is he’d be more comfortable with a calmer dog. Tyga is like that coworker who is fully caffeinated with double mocha lattes all day long! But Seal handled it like a champ. He was great for his food test and handling. No red flags seen. Another certified good boy.

🆘URGENT in MD🆘 LUCIOUS LION must be tagged by a rescue at 12 PM today 2/25 and leave by 6 PM. He did fine in playgroup (though he did mount a female quite persistently - but was easily and appropriately redirected) and is clearly a stunningly handsome guy. We don’t know why he is rescue only but the shelter will share that with interested approved rescues. We just saw his video for the first time so this is a true Hail Mary.

Observed in shelter play group on 2/24, LUCIOUS was a pretty calm guy and non-reactive to the other dogs in his group (males and females). He took a special interest in an intact female, but hopefully that will subside with his much needed neuter!!! He also took corrections easily, both from staff and the dog.

Catino is a 1-year-old terrier mix with a
wagging tail that hints at his sweet personality. He can be a bit aloof at first, but give him time (and a few treats), and he’ll start to warm up. He’s food-motivated and even showed off some agility skills during his training session! While he’s still learning to trust, he eventually gave a little kiss—proof that there’s a loving pup waiting to shine in the right home. Catino is strong on the leash and knows “sit,” making him a great companion for someone willing to help him build confidence. With patience and love, this smart and eager boy will truly come into his own.

Notes from Senior Shelter Volunteers: Catino is one of the urgent dogs I met on Saturday. Staff didn’t allow us to do any evals because they didn’t have anyone to chaperone us. So….all I could do was walk them and get a general sense of personality. ***Nice dogs….no red flags for me.***

‼️The amount of dogs left on this urgent list with no interest is scary. There are some amazing dogs on here! As of 2/24, 20 dogs still need to be rescued or fostered by tomorrow (2/25 at 6 PM). If not, they will die. This is the sad reality. Every. Single. Week. If you’re not in a position to adopt, then foster. If you can’t foster, then volunteer. If you can’t volunteer, donate. If you can’t donate, transport animals. If you can’t do any of these things, please advocate and spread the word‼️

This sweet and gentle 3-year-old Terrier mix is as lovely as a warm sunshine. Even when she wasn’t feeling her best, Barley still enjoyed getting outside for some fresh air and gentle sniffing. She has great kennel manners and a calm, easygoing personality that makes her happy to be around.

Barley met another pup, Mack, through the fence and gave him a friendly tail wag but wasn’t too fussed about making new dog friends at that time. If you’re looking for an easy going gal, check out Barley!

This gorgeous 3-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix is full of energy and looking for an active home! Georgette is vocal and excitable in her kennel but settles once we got outside. She’s somewhat anxious in new environments but was fine with handling and petting. While not very interested in food or toys while we were outside, she passed both her food and dog tests and seems to have good potty habits.

Notes from Senior Shelter Volunteers: Jill is one of the urgent dogs I met on Saturday. Staff didn’t allow us to do any evals because they didn’t have anyone to chaperone us. So….all I could do was walk them and get a general sense of personality. ***Nice dogs….no red flags for me.***
